The Bayern Munich general manager has showered praise on the current tactician as Bayern close the gap on Borussia Dortmund to just three points.
The Bayern Munich general manager, Christian Nerlinger, has voiced his belief that Jupp Heynckes will stay at the club until 2013. He mentioned that the current boss is certainly the best option and has done extremely well to pull
back Bayern in contention after an inconsistent start after the winter break.
At one stage, the Reds found themselves behind Borussia Monchengladbach as Heynckes’ came under scrutiny from the German media. However, the tactician has done well since then and could now even lead Bayern to a treble by the end
of this campaign.
Nerlinger claimed that Heynckes is one of the best managers around and knows to tackle every situation. While talking to a local sports publication, Bild, the general manager further added:
"I have to pay the coach a huge compliment as he has remained confident and handled the pressure during a difficult period. He is a championship trainer. At 66 years of age he has experienced all the ups and downs. He is the type
of trainer who retains complete control in times of crisis."
On the other hand, Nerlinger mentioned that Bayern and Dortmund will form a long term rivalry in the Bundesliga. He mused that these two sides can easily develop the same kind of duel as between Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
"I'm convinced [Dortmund are permanent rivals]. It could develop into a duel like in Spain between Real Madrid and Barca. There will be an ongoing battle for years with the better ending for us,” he concluded.
Bayern are currently three points adrift of Dortmund in the Bundesliga after their recent win over FC Augsburg on Saturday, April 7. Their next game will be against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, April 11, at the Signal Iduna
Park which might turn to be a decider as if which team will win this season’s crown.
Bayern have also qualified for the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League where they will meet Real Madrid in the first-leg on April 17, at the Allianz Arena.
