The Bayern Munich sporting director has admitted that his side were disappointing against Borussia Dortmund in the league fixture and calls for improvement.

Nerlinger admitted that his side missed some great opportunities to go ahead throughout the course of 90 minutes. He insisted that the result would have been different if the team had taken their chances and has stressed that the
defeat has certainly dented their chances of winning the title.

“It was an extremely dramatic match. After what happened in the closing stages, we could have had a draw. We always knew it wouldn’t be easy and that we couldn’t afford any mistakes. The disappointment is understandably huge, but
as of tomorrow, we have to look to the future and focus on our remaining games,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official website.

have scored from the penalty spot later in the match.
The former Schalke man admitted that Bayern’s chances of winning the title have taken a huge blow after the loss and claimed that the situation is not in their hands now.
“We deserved an equaliser. Unfortunately we conceded the goal at a very bad time. It’s no longer in our own hands, but we won’t give up, and we’ll try and win our remaining matches,” the glovesman concluded.
