Christian Poulsen and his agent admit transfer negotiations with Liverpool
The agent of star Danish midfielder, Christian Poulsen, has informed media that the ongoing negotiations with Liverpool are drawing closer and if all goes well Poulsen will soon be playing for the Reds.
Earlier in the week his agent confirmed that Juventus’ defensive midfielder Poulsen is looking forward to play for the Merseyside and talks about his transfer from Juventus are in advance stages.
The new Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has already made it clear that he needs a new midfielder that can take up the responsibility of fulfilling Javier Mascherano’s spot. The midfielder has demanded a transfer to Inter Milan where his former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez resides at the managing post after Jose Mourinho left the Champions League winning team for Real Madrid.
The agent of Poulsen, Jorn Bonnesen has confirmed that the talks are on and in fact the two parties have agreed onmany mutual grounds however he did not mention where the two weren’t and were there any chances of compromise between them.
When asked about the latest proceedings in the negotiations he played the dumb card and said, “To tell the truth I don't know if we are in agreement with Liverpool. It's a question that is not resolved in just two minutes. What's more I don't know if Liverpool and Juventus have reached an agreement”.
While talking to the media he also stated, “I have met with the English directors to negotiate personal terms and to hear what they are offering”. Sources have revealed that Poulsen and the club are considering an unofficial bid by Liverpool and a deadline has been set for the final decision.
Media reports are saying that Bonnesen is staying at the Merseyside in order to complete the transfer of the 30 year old midfielder to Reds. Reliable sources have revealed that Liverpool have offered around 6 million Euros and Juventus might just agree to the contract.
Poulsen has previously played for Holbæk B&I (82 appearances, 13 goals), Copenhagen (45 appearances, 10 goals), Schalke 04 (111 appearances, 3 goals), Sevilla (62 appearances, 4 goals) and Juventus (49 appearances, 1 goals). For Denmark he has had 77 caps in which he has scored 6 times.
There are more stories on agents; the agent of Alberto Aquilani has expressed that there is no chance of the Italian midfielder going back to his former club Roma. Not only has the Liverpool denied of any such progress and neither has the agent stated anything on the matter but as a matter of fact both have refused any offers made on him.
The agent of Alberto Aquilani, Franco Zavaglia clarified that the recent rumours and speculation of the 26 year old Italian going back to Roma were a hoax. Aquilani had spent a lot of time at Roma, playing 102 matches for them in which he had scored 9 goals. For Italy he has had a tremendous career at Under 21. Apart from that he played 11 matches for the Azzurri and scored twice.
Aquilani’s last season was tarnished because of an ankle injury. The Italian midfielder came to Liverpool in 2009 and was soon a hot topic but in England he has so far failed to make an impression. For Liverpool he has had 26 appearances in which he has scored twice.
Early reports from Anfield are also concluding that Aquilani is looking for a switch from te club. One of the places he is planning his return is Lupi. He will have left Liverpool without gaining much, a club which at that time he was pretty happy to play for. Rumour has it that the he will make the transfer for about 20 million Euros.
Zavaglia has however spoken to the contrary of his possibility to returning to Roma, “I exclude this. There is nothing true in this. It's all an invention from the press”.
