Christian Poulsen raring to make a fresh start at Evian TG – Ligue 1 news
New signing of Ligue 1 side Evian TG, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Poulsen-c9114 has said that he is raring to make a fresh start to his career after a silent 2010/2011 campaign with English Premier League side Liverpool.
Just like his former Liverpool teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694, Christian Poulsen decided to try his luck by making a switch on the other side of the English Channel by signing for a Ligue 1 club. The 31-year-old signed for the newly-promoted French outfit in the last
days of the transfer window and is now looking to start it all over again.
At the age of 31, Poulsen already has a resume to be proud of following his spells with La Liga side Seville FC and Italian Serie A giants Juventus. However, the defensive midfielder is not at all willing to rest on what he has already achieved and wants
to do more.
Now, the Denmark international is looking to turn the page on a dark chapter of his playing career at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and is confident about making a great comeback as he starts a new challenge in the French Alps with Evian.
While talking to French media, the Dane said that he is feeling good at the new club and believes that he is 100% fit after participating in the pre-season with Liverpool. Though Poulsen admits that he is 31, he still says that he has a lot of football left
in him.
“It's true that I'm 31 years old but I still have many good years ahead of me and I really want to show the French footballing public that I deserve my spot with Evian. I'm really hoping to be named in the squad to play against Bordeaux on Saturday," the
Danish captain said.
Poulsen missed out on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Norway-c2974 a few days ago in the Euro 2012 qualifier as Danish coach Morten Olsen chose to rest the team captain as he felt that Poulsen was far too stressed with his rare predicament at Liverpool during the summer.
Evian coach Bernard Casoni would also be looking to hand the experienced midfielder his debut for the club as Evian seek to bounce back from two straight defeats. TG lost 1-0 to Dijon FC in Week 4 of Ligue 1 and then crashed out of the Coupe de La Ligue
