We want to adopt from Kyrgyzstan, but there are very few agencies that offer this program. Any advice on this one in particular would be appreciated.

  1. Check for feedback on the Adoption Agency Research Database

  2. I would never do business with anyone who has "christian" as part of their business name or subtitle.  That alone is outrageously exploitive.  Think about it.  I have found through experience that their values tend to be about as un-christian as you can get (despite much lip service to the contrary).

As there are only a handful of truly ethical adoption agencies in this country, the "christian" ones would be the last on my list.

Is there any special reason you have chosen Kyrgyzstan specifically?

  3. I have a few friends who adopted from China through them and loved them, and know others who've had a horrible experience. I know there was a huge controversy with this agency and some african adoptions. Apparently they got the referrals mixed up and wouldn't admit to problems and wouldn't help get it fixed. I also heard they refused to allow people to adopt HIV+ children, people who specifically wanted to adopt these kids.

And yes, you do have to be christian to use them and they make you sign some things to that effect.
