The former Borussia Dortmund defender is delighted with the capture of Marco Reus and has regarded it as a step in the right direction.

Worns claimed that after the early exit from the UEFA Champions League, the Borussians would surely have given a thought on acquiring some high profile players to match some of the best teams in Europe. He hailed Reus as an exceptional talent and is confident that the player will make an instant impact mainly because of his versatility and attacking influence.
The former German international is eager to witness the Marco Reus and Mario Gotze partnership and is certain the new signing will reap rewards for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
“Dortmund want to get back into the Champions League and to do that you need a quality squad, with strength in depth. Marco Reus is a good player who can operate in a number of different positions. He can cut in from the flank, or occupy a more central role. And he'll be able to combine well with Mario Gotze, for sure,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Worns denied reports that the signing was made to challenge Bayern Munich and claimed that the acquisition is surely a way of motivating their own team that the club is going in the right direction. He added that Borussia Dortmund are going in the right direction and that the club wants to regain the dominance they once had in German football.
“It's more a message to their own team, that the club intends to keep moving upwards and is once again setting its sights higher than was the case until fairly recently,” he concluded.
