Also does anyone know about HOWTA(Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach)? I thought it looked very good.

  1. I have not heard of irt nut I Love Alpha Omega!

  2. ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) it has a good Bible foundation.

  3. I'm a Christian, but don't use a Christian curriculum.  I use K12 and cannot find its equal in the Christian market.  Instead, I add in our own bible lessons, DS attends bible club and church, and we go from there, using the bible as our guide.  When we read ancient history, for example, we tie it to the bible.  We use a lot of online and audio-visual items, and compare science lessons to materials from Answers in Genesis.

  4. My family used mostly aBeka for elementary grades.  We branched out after that.

  5. My family has used ABeka since grade 5 and we really like it(im in grade 12, my bro is in grade 10)

  6. I am not using Heart of Wisdom, but I am familiar with it and it is a very nice approach.

I don't use all of any one curriculum, but I take what I feel is the best from several publishers.  For instance, I might like the approach one publisher uses for Phonics and math, but like the way another publisher covers science, and another for History,  I also get a lot of my materials from the library.

For Preschool I like a Sunday School curriculum I bought once, it is called Great God, Grateful Child.  There is a Bible story, a dramatic play, and art project, a cooking activity, a contemporary story, and a science activity to go along with every Bible story, there are really way too many activities to do in one Sunday school class, but it makes a good springboard to use all week, adding in alphabet and number stuff.  Its out of print, but might still be available on E-bay.

  7. We're using aBeka through elementary school at least. I also think Rod and Staff is a good curriculum and very affordable.
