  1. It really depends on your beliefs. Christian Preschools do not cram the religion down the children's throat but instead will in force grace and read bible stories.

Public preschools education wise are just as good as any other preschool including christian preschools.

The best thing is for you to go in to a centre and spend atleast half a day in their with your child to get a sense of what the enviroment is like, some centres you will be able to judge when walking in to the centre, but be aware that the way the teachers may act when you arrive to meet and great them may be diffrent to when parents are not there.

You also will want a centre that encourage parteneship with parents after all you are your own childs first teacher.

  2. since he is so young put him in a public

  3. There are no public preschools.  Public education does not start until pre-kindergarten and is typically only offered to those who qualify (ESL, low income, etc.).

You will have to put him in a private preschool class, but it is up to you whether you would like it to be a preschool that is influenced by religion.  If religion is important to you then you should start him out in a Christian preschool to set a foundation, otherwise just pick the school that you think is the safest, and offers a good education.

  4. Public schools get many different kinds of people.

  5. I work in a Christian setting.  I have never worked in a public setting.  So I can only tell you some qualities about the center I work at.  We teach the children about Jesus daily.  So when a child gets hurt, we might pray for them to feel better. We pray before snacks and meals.  When a child is misbehaving, we might say Jesus doesn't like that (not to put the fear in them, but just a statement).  The staff mostly believe in Jesus (all teachers are Lutheran- but we cannot discriminate with hired caregivers).  Not all children come from church going families and that is fine.  We do not push the religion on to the families. I think that we do a good job of teaching the children morals.
