"Curriculum 2005" - A recent curriculum for public schools (currently implemented in South Africa; coming soon to America) where children will be forced to learn all the other religions of the world, learn their prayers, and accept their gods?

This is exactly why I don't send my child to public school. I don't need my kid learning satanism.

  1. What's that? Kids learning about other religions and cultures? And told that they should be treated with respect?

What IS the world coming to?

  2. I wouldn't worry. I love to study religion. It hasn't effect my Christian belief.

  3. Where my niece and nephew go to school here in California, in their Social Studies classes they are being taught Islam

  4. They will not be forced accept their Gods.  You are just being paranoid.    What is the problem with teaching a child that some people believe this way about God and others believe a different way.  Some people say a prayer like this; and some say a prayer like that.

It allows Children to learn about others beliefs it does not force them to believe them.   If you are confident in your Christian faith you will have no problem explaining to little Johnny why you believe the Muslims or the Jews have the wrong way of worshipping God, and why you believe your way is right.

In the end this is a brilliant decision to allow kids to learn about as many religions as possible.  It will allow them to make an informed decision, and will strengthen their faith - in whatever faith they follow.

  5. Well think again, they are trying to pass a law where every homeschoolers must have a degree in all subjects they are teaching. Which is unfair, even teacher that teach in school don't need a degree in everysubject. this is another way to force our children into having a worpped education. We all need to stick together on this if we want our children to be brainwash free. God bless you.

  6. Accept their gods?  Yup, that when the homeschooling would begin.

  7. I wouldn't go as far as to demand acceptance of gods but I think what their intention is to foster open-mindedness and tolerance of other cultures. You should try that every once in a while instead of living in your own little bubble. Your children will be thankful when it is their turn to face reality.

  8. Just another example of America's Liberal Educational system.

  9. well we, as Christians, need to raise our children in the truth (and show them you believe it too, by the way you live).  then when the 'world' tries to teach them 'there' (i.e. lies) ways they will not stray from the truth.

i agree ...this is scary, with a little one, idk i will just ask God, through His Son and our Lord Jesus, for wisdom on how my wife and i could handle this when that time comes.

    won by one!!

  10. That doesn't sound scary.

It seems like a wonderful opportunity to discuss other religions objectively with one's child.  To discuss one's own faith in light of that knowledge, and to grow spiritually and mentally, thanks to the information that your child has been presented with.

Also, I want to see your source.  Or at least define "all the other religions of the world" and "accept their gods."  There are absolute scads of religions and variations on major traditions.  It would be kind of cruel to force anyone to know *all* of them.  Even worse to make them believe in all the different gods out there.  Some religions are atheist, too...won't that throw them for a loop!

Now, assuming that we're talking about kids being told, "hey look, here's what some people believe, here's a prayer/how they practice those beliefs, and by the way, please don't stone them for holding that belief, they have just as much freedom to believe what they want as you do..."  What's the problem?

And no one should learn satanism. It just lame on sooo many levels.

  11. Wow...

It's good to be aware, but forced to accept their gods and prayers?

  12. First of all you cant force acceptance, especially when they go home to parents that are very closed minded.  Even if they do accept other religions it doesn't mean they will believe in them and leave their religion, it just means more tolerant children will be raised, leading to fewer wars waged in the name of one particular God.

Also, if you are so concerned that knowledge will keep your children from believing, than your religion is not very strong to begin with.

  13. Its a mixed up world. I don't accept any other God because there is only one God, but mankind is always trying to come up with substitutes. All we can do is teach our children the truth and hope and pray that the enemy will not destroy there heritage.

  14. I think it is important to stay in touch with what your child learns, but I think it is important not to limit them to just what you want them to learn, unless you want to be there for them for the rest of their lives.

We pulled our kids out of public school because of the drugs, not the curriculum, but they got 9-10 years of public school.  Drugs were really bad back then.  Not sure how they are in schools now.

Life does not always seem FAIR!

Hi!  I am a Forgive Affirmed Spirit and this is what I profess and try to act like.

Forgive Affirmed Spirit is the belief in a way of life that is a method of grief resolution and functional communication processing involving active listenning, sympathy, empathy and affirmation of shock, denial, anger, guilt, depression, loneliness and hope...a kind of ego-equilibrium seeking methodology.

A Greater Works of communication and action, a way to learn to love your enemies "Advocating mortal life, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you AS IF YOU WERE THEM!"

And nobody is perfect!  NOBODY!  We are all judgeable, hopefully in a graceful discerning way!   We are all doing our best every moment!

Humans judge everything  as we are a part of it.  Without difference, we have nothing to live for, nothing to witness.  Sin is difference, the relative seriousness with regards to law and survival of other beings, is punishable by the courts. The best way to judge is with as much graceful discernment as one can muster in a given moment!

Life is the question(uncertainty) asked by the exhaling infinitely compacted imagination invention, or no thing, which is completely certain of everything, completely omniscient or all knowing.

When I die, I believe I will be in a new state, aware of all that is and yet divided into the nature of dust that I am in, whereupon my dust shall fall.  My being will remain an infinite part of an infinite being and infinite knowledge without my material human being status of now. So there will be a change.

But my soul, my passions and discompassions, will move on to infinite places of comfort and challenge.  Able to return to this state of uncertainty and free choice illusion for another ride when it is called effectively to do so.

So that the children of God, the creations of God, .. are actually part in parcel of that God or Creation Energy!

This  life is a roller coaster ride. Enjoy your passion within it and whatever gathering of two or more in Forgive Affirmed Spirit to make it better can garner.

Healing be unto you and yours and me and mine in

    Forgive Affirmed Spirit

  15. no,this is more our problem.................http://www.disclose.tv/action/viewvideo/...

  16. Since you gave no citation, I looked up Curriculum 2005. I find nothing that says what you've stated here. Please provide a link for your claim.

This is the one I found which outlines what Curriculum 2005 is:

  17. I have no problems with them learning about other faiths and practices, nor learning to tolerate and respect others rights to them. But I take offense strongly to any child being forced to pray to or embrace any faith not their own. But I home school and my children are taught about other cultures and other faiths.

  18. No one can force anyone to learn prayers or to accept other gods.

One can learn about them but not accept them.

  19. wow.  Children SHOULD learn about other religions. I would like to see your facts, because there is no way that they could make children accept ALL of the gods.  That doesn't even make sense.

Anyway- kids should learn about all the religions before they chose the one that they may follow.  As a Christian, you have, in essence, forced your child to learn the prayers and follow the God of YOUR choice.

Knowledge is power.  If your sheltered child goes to college, he/she will have to take a World Religion course.  While Satanism is not in the book, Taoism, Buddhism, Islam, etc are..

Oh, and you should study satanism.  It really isn't what you would think. No mass murder, blood drinking, etc.

  20. I think that it is a good thing for children to be learning about other religions.  It will prevent prejudice against other religions in their future.  Accepting their gods and prayers is totally different from actually believing in them as long as there is a clear line made at the school.  Why shouldn't children be able to learn about other religions. By doing this they can make more informed choices when they are older about their religion.  They may not want to follow the parents religion and why should they? It is their own choice.
