Christian pen pal or key pal resources, do you know of any good ones?

My 10 year old daughter is wanting a pen pal/key pal and I am leery of child predators that I know are on most of the sites that offer this. Do you have good sites you can steer me to that would offer a safer environment? I will monitor all emails coming in and going out as she will have to use my email account. Check with the Dobson organization.  They have many resources for mails and e-mails for kids in Christian families.

Also check with the home-schooling organizations in various states.  Many are Christian and would like pen-pals for their students.

I know a Christian homeschooler in Mississippi, I believe it is, that has two kids in that general age and might like to correspond.  If you wish to send me a reply I will contact her for you and see if she is interested.

I don't honestly know of a service that offers this. It would probably attract a lot of predators if there was one, though. :\

I would suggest having her write to someone in your church. Maybe someone of good standing, an adult - like the pastor's wife is she is up for it? I suggest someone locally just because you can see that person, and because you probably know them. I had a pen pal when I was at boarding school for two years, and I loved it... but its good you're being careful about things.

Well... its not the same as a pen pal exactly, but there is a site called Howrse that has horse games and also a discussion forum.  The forum is moderated constantly and no postings with personal information are allowed through, also no solicitations for that information.

Its not specifically Christian though.

The other option would be for you to set this up with someone you know, for example a friend or relative might now another kid looking for a key pal.

I am not sure for a 10 year old considering the safest Christian environment.

However, I have one free site which is for 13 years old and above. It's somewhat like "Christian myspace with church as well".
