Question:

Christian prayers; conflict of interest, ethical dilemma, do you have AIM?

Ok guys I have this problem. It is somewhat of an ethical question and it involves what I can only describe as a conflict of interest. Say you have a doctor and the doctor's son you are friends with. Is it a conflict of interest to go over and visit the man's son? This is a pretty complicated question that I have (^^^ That is obviously not it but a mere example) and so what I need is someone who has knowledge in Christian counseling, and/or ministry, and/or professional matters involving clients and proper ethics, and/or relationship advice, and/or praying, to get on AIM and talk with me about this matter. It should take 30 minutes to an hour to get through the matter sufficiently so if anyone has ample time to offer advice and listen to my problems I would really appreciate it. It will probably be the hardest 10 points you will ever earn on this site but I think it is a worthy challenge to any of you better answerers.

  1. There would be no conflict for you, but if the doctor thinks he knows you too well personally, he might have to refer you to another physician.  Physicians do not do surgery or treat their own family members or close friends in serious matters because their emotions might cloud their professional judgment.  If you feel there might be a problem here, just shop around for another physician.

  2. If you can't ask a question that can't be answered on the boards, then I would suggest you don't ask at all. Why should anybody turn their AIM on for you? They don't know who you are.
