Question:

Christian women, I have a question about God's stance on abortion?

Many Christians say that abortion is wrong because it is "against God's plan" and that every person is responsible for the life they create, whether on purpose or by accident. They say it is incorrect because it is a punishment of the unborn life.

God created the Earth, populated it, made life. This life came from Him, and only existed because of his actions.

Then, when he observed the bad behavior of the humanity he had created (behavior which he was also responsible for, if you believe as the Bible states that God has planned each moment of every person's life), he decides to punish the life he has created by killing almost every living thing on Earth.

By doing this, God was able to let the fertile land of the Earth begin again in a way more pleasing to Him.

Isn't this akin to a woman having an abortion? If God is really as righteous as Christians say, why does he do the same "bad" things which he condemns? Is God a hypocrite?

  1. well the whole point of him taking all those lives is because he could, but if we decide to take the life of another human being then it is wrong only god can take a life not us

  2. So if God can destroy the earth with a flood and save one man's family, I think that a D&C (the technical operation called an abortion only if you are pregnant) is far less brutal.

Neither God, nor the Bible say anything about abortion.  That is ridiculous.  And if someone tells you that God told them something specific, I would suspect schizophrenia.  That is what we call it when people hear voices.

If Christians all believe that only God can take a human life, why are they so strong in support of the the death penalty and war.  I those cases humans decide who lives and who dies.  Yes, you are right.  They are being VERY hypocritical, and too stupid to even realize it.

  3. I don't think having an abortion or not is really a Christian issue. It is an issue that is up to each individual.  Whatever anybody says they cannot say that they have discussed this with God.  Nobody really knows what God has said.

Being Christian is being a good person, treating others kindly and helping others in anyway you can.  Beyond that what more could be asked of us human beings.  Being Christian is also not being judgmental of others and taking care of your own life as best you can without hurting others.

  4. As a former fetus, I don't agree with abortion.

  5. it got nothing to do with God, it got to do with yrself, it is yr action that you made, u are inresponsible toward what u have done, those unborn life have the right to live in this world very same as what we have always said, HUMAN RIGHTS.

And u knew it very well as a christian killing is sin, we do not have the right to take human life

  6. I know God said thou shall not kill, this would be for the poor babies to i would think, but I think , there should be allot more info on how these babies are killed, that is the issue, put it in schools , so they can see , this is a life they choose to take , not just a good time erased.People are more worried about who is right or wrong, when the baby's dieing is the real ISSUE.

  7. Abortion is wrong in any case to me. The baby has done NOTHING wrong. I can't and don't judge people that have been victims of rape and so forth, because who am I to judge? and I pray that I am never put into that position.

And God isn't a hypocrite.God gave us free will. He may know what we're going to do but He doesn't choose it for us, that's on us. I believe in God and when I tell a lie I don't go oh God made me lie...That's just stupid! I chose to lie. I can choose to cuss and drink and be a s***k(which I'm not) but that doesn't mean that that is what God wanted for me it's the path that I chose to go down. I can also choose to ask for forgiveness (Thank you Lord) and believe in Him. We have free will because otherwise we wouldn't have to have faith.

  8. The argument would be that only God has the right to terminate a life.  God killing almost everything on Earth was his way of starting over.  A woman having an abortion is taking a life, which only God has the authority to do.  It doesn't make God a hypocrite, it makes God 'in charge'.  He makes the rules.

  9. I am an agnostic but if I was to play "god's advocate" I would say that he created all life and thus only he has the right to remove it. I suppose its tricky cause do we say that we are creating life ourselves too in which case we should have the right to remove it?

I just think the only reason we could perceive the choice to abort as a "right" is because we have been granted the rationality to make such a decision and the means to perform it. Just an interesting side note.. is a right determined by merely what we have the capacity to do? Do the strong have the right to harm the weak simply because they have the capacity to do so?

p.s. I hope this isn't a question asked to validate your convictions. Cause that would be pathetic

  10. Would it be alright if you were the result of a botched abortion?

Would it be alright if a lady could not have any more children due to an abortion?

God gives and takes away life. It is not up to us to play God.

Sure would hate to think that abortion is the punishment for a baby just as God flooding the earth is punishment for sin.

  11. See, this is why I stopped going to church (but I still believe in God).

Church has a bunch of people telling you what the bible means and what God's plan is....  Well how can mere mortals know this?   I quit buying that load of rubbish in a bible study class that had a leader's manual with the "right" answers to the discussion questions.

IF the Bible is an inspired work of God, it is meant to be read and interpreted by each individual...and each person reading it may have a different understading of it - as God intended for that person.

IF humans have free will, they are free to make choices that defy biblical teachings and experience the consequences of their actions.

IF, IF , IF   many ifs, few absolutes....

I prefer to figure it out for myself, thank you.

  12. Wow, that's a pretty interesting analogy. I've never thought about it that way.
