  1. Paul was an extremely angry person who had a lot of trouble getting people to accept his authority because he said he saw a ghost of Jesus out in the boonies...I think Paul maybe inflates his own ego at times...

If any thing, Christianity should try to distance themselves from Paul's rants so that Modern Feminism doesn't find the relgion so archaic...

  2. Is there a point to this question?

  3. I agree with Wolfeblayde, Paul's instructions are scripture but they go BOTH ways.  Husbands are called to lay down their lives for their wives.  And wives are not to just "submit" to anything the husband insists on which goes against the teachings of Christ.  Paul is really talking about mutual respect that we must all have for one another as creations of God.

Funny this question about Paul came up today....I wore a headcovering to Adoration for the first time last night.  I don't consider myself particularly "feminist" but I'm a young single woman with a university degree who supports herself financially.  I'm not saying that covering in church is something I think all women must do, but I'm using this an an example of a strong, intelligent woman who believes in respect (and EXPECTS respect from the men in her life, too!).

  4. Paul was anti woman from the start. Why would an openminded Woman agree with him?

  5. Christian men, don't you agree with all the things Paul said in his epistles?

You know -- "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it." (Ephesians 5:28)

Or how about, "Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband." (Ephesians 5:33)

Men want their wives to respect them, but they don't fulfill their part of the commandment. Then they wonder why their wives get tired of being treated like the cook, maid, laundress, chauffeur, and streetwalker, rather than being cherished and loved to the point of sacrificing himself for her.

If the leader is disobedient to God's commandments, it should come as no shock when the rest of the chain of command falls apart. So when husbands follow their part of Paul's teachings, they'll be pleasantly surprised to find how easy it is for a Christian wife to do hers.

  6. I believe Paul lost a d***o up his **** which is why he's so d**n uptight all the time.

  7. No, I don't but thanks for adding my opinion to those of Paul's.

(They are all JUST his opinions you know.....)

    ;)

Lion are you saying that all women should quit teaching leading in positions of authority just because Paul said so in a letter that was written a few thousand years ago?

  8. You shouldn't.  Those were the customs of the time.  Next time you go to church greet everyone with a "Holy Kiss", with a full body hug.  That was the custom.  See how many people go into the chapel A!

  9. It's not so much that I disagree, it's more that I find it disturbing that SOME Christian men use what is written as a stick on Christian women.
