What differences between Christianity and Islam helped lead to the Crusades? What were the main reasons behind the Crusades? Can you draw any parallels today? I'm trying to write a paper, and I want to make sure I'm atleast going about it the right way, so any input is much appreciated!

  1.  Muslims accept Jesus as a great prophet, but deny his salvific death on the cross, his resurrection and his deity as Son of God.

The rest of the things can be paralleled but this believe cannot be changed in Christians mind.

They think Jesus was killed and that's it. in actual Jesus was never killed and Muslims firmly believe in it.

  2.  Christianity and Islam have large number of  followers in the world and they have many similarities. Both share their roots  from Judaism, from where they inherited a belief in one God who created the world and shows his concern about the behavior and beliefs of human beings.

The main reason behind the crusades, was the liberation of the holy lands from the muslim control. Main purpose of the crusades was to restore a Christian control over Jerusalem. These crusades were waged by Roman Catholics and the Franks.
