  1. Nothing went wrong. There is an ebb and flow to history. Nobody stays on top forever.

  2. Nope. The industrial revolution, based on secular science and rationalism, made Britain very rich.

Christianity said it's last sensible and relevant thing many centuries ago.

  3. ***** all, as everyone speaking the language of one of its countries can see. The best country in the world!

  4. Christianity had nothing to do with it, the empire was built on greed. Its demise was down to gutless politicians.

  5. No it didn't, the people made Britain great.

  6. over population.....simple as that......Infrastructure that can't cope.....

  7. Politicians bending over backwards to appease an imported with an expansionist agenda.

  8. christianity did no such thing

organised religion is completely economically unproductive

and so its no surprise that in general the more religious a country is the less economically prosperous it is

  9. Fu.ck all, as everyone speaking the language of one of its countries can see. The best country in the world!

  10. greed.

  11. Britain overstretched it's empire like the Romans before them

  12. ask your Muslim neighbors, lol

  13. nothing went wrong with Britain...i love it here...it is joining Europe that has buggered us up....anybody in Europe now has the right to live here...the sooner we are out - the better!!

  14. No, actually.  Christianity did nothing.  If you want to thank someone thank the ancient Romans for civilizing you.

  15. I don't see how you came up with the idea that Christianity done what you say. At the time of Britain's power surge it had the largest navy in the world. The highest spending on armed forces in the world. Religion had nothing to do with it. If any nation had the largest Navy at the time and was Buddhist it would have done the same thing. If Buddhists were greedy but they are not.

  16. They went nuts.

  17. Britain's abandonment  of Christians principles ; led to plunder and slaughter and gave "Christianity" a bad name.

Furthermore, an established "church" holds itself to "dutifully"

endorse this militaristic plunder with cenotaph ceremonials.  Christianity did not make Britain great,

The last chapter is not yet written.

  18. Britain is reaping what was sown over many hundreds of  years!

Its former "greatness" was gained by the plundering of other nations lands and natural riches.

Christianity, as imported by the celts and then the romans, simply allowed them to believe they were superior and had god-given rights to rob and enslave the native populations.

  19. Where on earth did you get that totally stupid idea?.

This country went through an expansionist period, in which we accepted NO opposition.

If there was opposition, we killed it, corrupted it or blackmailed it.

  20. Christianity wasn't what made Britain the Greatest country in the world.  Actually, it is part of what brought it down from its throne as the world leader.

Benjamin Franklin several hundred years ago correctly predicted that the US would surpass Great Britain in power.  The reason he gave was population growth.  The population of the United States was growing at a much faster rate than Great Britain.

That same ideology can be applied to China now.  Look at which countries are becoming powerful countries.  It is the countries such as China and India which have large young populations.  Young populations means more workers and more buying power, resulting in a stronger economy.

You may wonder how that equates to Christianity causing Britain's downfall.  There were two main reasons British people left Britain.  The first major reason was to escape religious persecution.  At that time, Britain required every Brit to be a member of the Church of England.  Protestants who opposed those views were often burned at the stake or put in prison.  Thus you have the story of the Pilgrims and such making their journey to the US.  The other primary reason was to make their own personal fortune.  But the main reason the US started becoming populated was to escape religious persecution, making the personal fortune followed after that except for the first few fur traders which normally did not consist of families but rather individuals.  People escaping religious persecution normally traveled with their families.  Your population increase will come through families instead of individuals.

You also have to remember that Britain has only a limited supply of land whereas the US had a large amount of untapped land.  With a limited supply of land it is harder for the population to grow in number.  Britain depended on its colonies for its power since Britain itself consisted of a limited supply of land.  The US was the first colony in the world to fight for and win independence from its mother country.  That gave other colonies such as in South America the idea that if the US can do it, so can we.  And slowly but surely England, France, and Spain lost power as they each lost colonies.
