"The reason most Christians don't believe in evolution is because they believe it conflicts with their beliefs."

Am I safe to believe that? No research etc. Haven't researched the basics of evolution, or used scientific thinking processes to draw conclusions or develop other notions? Did I hit it on the nail?

  1. Yes, the fundamentalists think that it threatens Genesis, but it does not have to.

Many intelligent Christians know that evolution is fact.

  2. I am Christian.

    I don't have a problem with Evolution.

Perhaps the Biblical seven days are seven "ages." So what?

    All the best.

    God love you!

  3. I think  today  most christians accept  God could  use  evolution  but there  may  still be a few  who do not.

  4. I try to avoid nail analogies in the religion section.  After all, it's not fair that Jesus can't eat maltesers.

  5. That's a circular statement.

Most Christians don't believe in evolution because they think it conflicts with the Bible.

And you don't "hit it on the nail" you "hit the nail on the head."

    Is English your second language?

  6. I see no conflict. It's a matter of interpretation. The "days" of creation can logically span over millions of years in earth time, and there's no reason to think otherwise.

  7. Not for me, you have not.  I do not reject evolution at all.  It does not conflict with my beliefs.  God is still the creator, as far as I am concerned.

  8. No, that's not true. The reason we believe that is because it has been PROVEN that evolution is false. Look at Lee Strobel for example and all of the studies he has done.

  9. yep

most christians dont believe in anything that questions there own

  10. No that is not right evolution is when you believe things like that earth was created on its on. When you ignore God's creation he gets angry and blouts your name out of heaven.

  11. It conflicts with Genesis.

A lot of Christians do believe in evolution, thank god.

    x

  12. Barely.

I know some Christians who believe in it.

Not to mention I had some Christians in my biology class who still didn't believe after studying it.

  13. It doesn't contradict a belief, it pushes God out of the picture, and that's what's wrong with it.  It's a denial that God even exists.  Some people believe in evolution, but God created it.  God created science in the first place.

  14. It depends. Lots of Christians believe in Microevolution. It's Macroevolution part that we do not agree. Then again, lots of scientists do not agree on Macroevolution either.

For example, we believe dogs can evolve within their species. Their physical traits can change or their natural habits can change. They are still dogs after such changes. But we do not believe a dog can evolve into a cat or a snake or something that has a different number of chromosomes.

  15. In my case you missed. I have looked at the evidence and found that evolution does not fit that evidence. When I look at the same evidence trough a Biblical Worldview in makes sense. It does conflict wiht my beliefs, and in conflicts with the conclusions that evolutionist come up with. Before someone claims I am brainwahsed, I was a evolution believing person for over 47 years.

  16. You have the right to believe that.

You do not have the right to force others to believe that.

But you should probably learn a bit about evolution.

  17. Aren't cretinists funny ? I do so enjoy the way they rant .

If they have a problem with evolution being a PROVEN FACT with large amounts of real evidence to back it up do what the early Church used to do and tear genesis out and throw it away . Stooping to listening to blathering lies by Lee Strobel and Ted Haggard isn't proof .

Michael do your research somewhere other than a cretinist site Darwin didn't doubt the theory and he spent his life proving the theory of his Grandfather .

  18. I think that is true for many creationists. Actually, a lot of christians do believe in evolution.

  19. Well, it does conflicts with "our beliefs" but, that's not why I don't believe in it.

I don't believe in evoultion because it "conflicts" with our "beliefs" but because I know that God created the universe and that it isn't true that we formed in millions of years. There is proof that scientists have known all along that the earth cannot simply be millions of years old. If that was true, did you know that the layers of the earth would have seperated by now? how? because scientists say that the earth is slowly stopping in it's rotation. simple, right? well, if evolutionists say that the earth is millions of years old, that means back then, the earth was at a very high speed of rotating. (laugh). i would hate to live back then. there would be some pretty high winds. maybe around 200 mph. lol. anyways, the earth's layers would have seperated because of the high pressure and such speed.

  20. I once read that "Faith...is conviction without proof" and that "Science is proof without conviction" ! Personally I am a Christian that knows that we indeed evolved and that Darwinian theory is correct!

    Conflicting beliefs...yep...troublesome to me....nope ! *S*

Hope my lowly opinion on how I handle it helps ! Good luck ! *S*

  21. lol how can you choose whic bits of the bible you believe, you can't ignore genesis. Next, theres lot of major holes in the theory of evolution, liethe lack of in between forms for creatures in the fossil record and so onG do some research youself and you''ll see darwin doubted his own theory.
