preach out of duty while others preach out of a relationship with the Lord?

I've noticed while visiting different churches in the past that some preachers preach mostly from a place of duty. It seems they tend to focus on what we need to do as Christians because it's our duty while others preach from their relationship with the Lord. Both preach from the Bible, of course but their place of reference is different. Have you ever noticed this? If so, please elaborate. Thanks!

  1. Its just different styles of preaching that is all.

  2. Yes, but a pastor should preach from the anointing. Some were sent and some just went.

  3. Yes, I have noticed this..........a preacher needs to preach the Word of God --- what the Lord places on his heart..........his relationship with Jesus Christ should be evident................

    God Bless.................

  4. My minister is not a "people person" at all. He doesn't seem to enjoy his job. And he's the reason my brother stopped going to church as a child. Luckily, he's retiring in September.

The minister we had before him was amazing. You could see his vocation was his life. He was called to another church, though. Even as a child, it was one of my saddest memories. Our church never fully recovered. I just hope the next one is truly dedicated, but still makes it enjoyable.

  5. Yes I have noticed this. My Pastor preaches from his relationship with the Lord. He uses a lot of things from his own experiences. He gets teary eyed sometimes to. I prefer this kind of preaching because he leads by example and not just the words of his mouth.

  6. A Pastor should preach being led by the Holy Spirit, not his views but Gods.May God Bless
