Question:

Christians, how do we rebuke those of our faith who still have the stain of racism, re: Obama? ?

Remember, Evangelical Christianity led to the abolition of slavery through the actions of William Wilberforce.

I see some of the members of my church falling into sin with Barack Obama's campaign.

I would never vote for a liberal or a pro choice person. However, I do take him at his word that he is a born again Christian. I think of him as a brother in Christ.

How can we make sure that we keep a pro life candidate in the White House, but to rebuke those who use incorrect methodology in doing so?

  1. Excommunicate them... that will really teach them.

  2. Anyone who won't vote for Obama because he is black is not a true Christian.  Anyone, including Obama who votes pro abortion is not a true Christian .  Anyone who thinks they can continue in sin as a Christian because they are not under the law but under grace , is not a true Christian .

  3. The media won't tell you that he introduced a bill to allow the UN to tax americans.  Maybe they can just smell a flaming liberal, and don't know why they hate everything about him?

  4. I assumed that you've mostly figured out the abortion trick by now. Even when the right wingers controlled the whole federal government from 2000-2004 no major abortion legislation came up.

The reason? Abortion "opposition" is a guaranteed voter base for some republicans. If they ever did anything about abortion, they'd be asked to explain their other views. Therefore they pull the abortion trick... tell the guaranteed voters they'll do something and do nothing, or propose abortion legislation so insane it is guaranteed to fail (like bills that oppose abortion in an attempt to save the life of the mother.) And in doing so, get the anti-abortion voters to support shipping jobs overseas and building schools on toxic waste dumps....and say they couldn't get to abortion this time, and if you just keep them in office longer....

It's really sad that pro-life voters can't see through this trick... You need some pro-life people to start speaking out against it.

If you're really pro-life, oppose the death penalty.

  5. I'd remind them of Matthew 7:2 -- "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." -- and also 1 John 4:20: "If anyone says, 'I love God,' yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen."

Racism is always wrong, and the end never justifies the means.

  6. I, for one, do not take anyone at their word that they are born again by His Spirit.  I have a real problem with calling anyone my sister or brother in Christ, when they support un-Christ-like things such as abortion and homosexuality.  In my opinion, the only way to rebuke those of our faith, Brother, is with the word of God.  My vote will not be based on the color of the candidate's skin, but on his experience and his conviction for standing for the truth of God's word and not compromising it for the sake of votes.  God bless!!!

  8. How is voting for Obama racist?  And how is a vote a sin?  I'm lost...

  9. Until you have a uterus your opinion is hardly as valid as those it actually effects.

    i.e. Women.

Personally, as a woman, you are the last kind of person I would listen to.
