Question:

Christians, what happens if you accidentally sin just moments before you die?

lets say, for example, you have lived your whole life being the best damned christian you could be, but you are now in hospital on your death bed, AND you have a bit of a fetish for nurses but have always managed to repent. What happens if a smoking hot nurse walks in, you have a lustful thought, then die straight afterwards...

do you go to h**l?

  1. Bad luck...straight to h**l

I've read 2 correspondents saying that once you are "saved"..you are saved forever and you will never sin again.

I've read some absurd notions posted by Christians, but that one takes the cake.

    An immunity to sin......how convenient.

What a relief to know that once you are "saved", you have got a free pass to Heaven.

I hope you never do anything to have your free pass revoked.

If you get your free pass at 20yo and you live to 100yo that's a long time to be good.

  2. If your sick enough to be dying I wouldn't imagine s*x being on the brain at that moment.

  3. I agree with church lady.  We are saved through faith in jesus christ which I believe we must confess by mouth and ask for him to come into our life.  When we accept jesus as our saviour and confess we are sinners and ask for forgiveness (through prayer) I believe we are then cleasned of our old selves.  Once you have accepted jesus you have no desire to sin and to go back to your old sinful life, you want to live how he taught us.

Our father in heaven knew none of us were perfect and could never get to heaven the way we were so he sent his only son (completely sinless) to take the penalty for us through his crucifixion and death, so that we could then from that moment on have forgiveness and a new relationship with him.  With jesus's blood our sins are washed away.  But we must accept jesus as our saviour.

Nobody who accept jesus as their saviour would continue to deliberately sin.

But of course we all make mistakes but because of jesus are mistakes can be forgiven and we can have eternal salvation.

  4. u confess

  5. Sins that effect you relationship with God are deliberate , anyway the result will be the same , you will die , rot in your grave (the bibles description of h**l) & you most likely will awaken in the resurrection , you may end up in the second death which is eternal sleep with no chance of Resurrection.

  6. Maybe you could quickly ask for forgiveness as you were going there.

  7. If you 'accidentally' sin moments before your death, you ask for forgiveness ONE moment before you die

    Kp

  8. No.

  9. We are saved by grace not by works and Satan will always put thoughts in our mind but thank God we have the power to resist those thoughts.....A bird may land on your head but you don't have to let it build a nest there....

  10. i guess both life and the afterlife are unfair

  11. Interesting. I am sure that person would not go to h**l!

  12. Who knows... God is merciful; He is the only one who can give a final judgement. He knows what is in our hearts better than we do ourselves.

That person might go to purgatory for a while as a time of purification, but again, we're never sure. The general criteria is the gravity of the matter, whether a sin was done with full consent and whether it was done with full knowledge of its gravity. But this is only a general criteria; and the human mind cannot fathom the extent of God's mercy as well as, the extent of His justice. (Note: God's mercy and justice may seem contrary to each other but it is not because God cannot contradict Himself. It is a mystery that we will not fully understand.)

I think if that person has lived his life with purity, it is unlikely that he will give in at the last moment. And like the other answer before, I wouldn't think that he'd have lust in his mind at the moment of death. He has other things more important to think about, i.e., eternity (presuming that he has lived a pure life because he was looking forward to this moment).

  13. Your point is paradoxical.... according to Christian beliefs, Jesus died carrying the sins of all Christians, so technically Christians can still go to heaven while having sins.....

  14. No, we'd still go to Heaven.

Sin is done intentionally. Accidents are not.

The words "sin" and "accident" are contradictory.

There is no such thing as an accidental sin.

  15. Is it even possible to accidentally sin?

This question just seems a bit ludicrous, even for me.

  16. since you have already decided life and death, what God has to do in it.  Anyway, I think he will die a little later.

  17. You seem to be under the false idea that we go to Heaven or h**l based upon weather we are good or bad.  A Christian is a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior.  It is our faith or lack there of in Jesus Christ that determines weather we go to Heaven or h**l.  Once a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior they are SAVED and once a person is saved they are always saved.  h**l is no longer a possibility for them.  They have eternal security.

Why would a Christian bother then to be good?  Doesn't this give them license to just run around willy nilly sinning all over the place?  No, because we are Saved we want to please God.  And because sin interferes with our relationship with God.  A Christian would never want anything to come between themselves and God.  They would never want to do anything that would interfere in their walk with God.  That is why we need to stay away from sin.

  18. well according to the church lady, confess Jesus and then party on!

It doesn't matter what you do, only what you say.

Although I heard someone say once that "your actions are screaming so loudly I can't hear what you are saying"

So maybe the church lady's thinking needs more development.

I think if you have had a change of heart then it isn't a problem. If you have Christ at the center of your life.

  19. yup... you're going to h**l.

  20. LOL, I don't like hot nurses.......

  21. 1) no such thing as a "damned christian" but I know what you meant

    2) If you have a good relationship with God you will be able to control you thoughts instead of getting caught up in carnal attraction

3)Once you are saved by Jesus Christ once, you have your sins forgiven, past present and future. You only need to get saved once, you don't have to get re-saved every time you sin. Otherwise, everyone would live in a state of panic because the smallest mistake could send them to h**l even after they got saved.
