Question:

Christians & Catholics?

Is it just me, or does the entire Catholic/Christian community ignore the fact that their religion is only a few thousand years old? Does anyone realize that as soon as we figure something out thru science, people pretty much drop the God part (i.e. evolution, Sun revolves around the Earth, etc).

  1. First Catholics are Christian we have been for two thousand years and still are. Second as a Catholic I can tell you that I believe in both evolution and God.

  2. Actually Christianity dates back to the beginning of time. Or actually before if you want since Jesus has existed eternally.

  3. Not everyone does.

Science is wholly concerned with physical matter.  It is entirely possible that there is another, spiritual realm that science will never discover, simply because it is not made of matter.

Science is concerned with the physical, not the spiritual.

Religion is (or should be) concerned with the spiritual, not the physical.

    The two don't even overlap.

Also, Catholics are a kind of Christian.  Do some research.

  4. Catholics are Christians and yes, we know the church is 2,000 yrs old.  And I don't recall that people dropped God etc with all the scientific findings that have been made.  BTW, you do realize that a lot of the scientific discoveries had been made by Catholic monks?  Also the Catholic church ensured that literacy and arts were available to all who wanted it?  Without the church a lot of classic literature would have been lost.

  5. I believe that our religion is not that old. I also believe the creation that is in the bible so I dont think that earth is millions of years old either...so  that pretty much throws your question out of the window.

  6. Apparently the 'openminded" have too hard of a time trying to reconcile what they know to "how did God do that"...
