I have noticed that things start drying up for me financially and I find myself out of work for one reason or another when I have been in sin. Have any other Christians out there experienced this ? Would like born again believers responses because they are the only ones with the spiritual discernment and faith to understand this.

Thanks for you responses.. God bless !

  1. No, my idea of God is not that of a judge or teacher who rewards us when we're good and punishes us when we're bad.  That's what is known as retribution dogma, and it doesn't make sense. Even the Israelites changed their way of thinking like this after the exile.  If you read Proverbs you find this way of thinking.  But then when you read Ecclesiastes or Job you see that the way of thinking about God changed.  Then why do innocent people suffer?  Why do bad things happen to good people?  I can't believe in a God who is good and loving, yet dictates events in such a way.

  2. Yes! God Punishes those He loves, just like a father would.

  3. Yes and it was a big one. Things haven't been "right" since.

  4. God will never leave you unless you leave him first

  5. I find that heading down a path of "t*t for tat" punishment from God can get a little shaky.  Soon, we start attributing all sorts of bad things to our sins.   Likewise, I find the "prosperity gospel" message alarming, to say the least.

I find that when I am in step with God's Spirit, I tend to feel better, regardless of the circumstances in which I find myself.   Remember, Paul urges us to be "content in all things" and he was in prison!

Do things necessarily "go better" when I am walking in the Spirit?  Perhaps.  But perhaps it is just God changing my perception and looking more at the situation as He would view it.

  6. Yep sure have.

In fact before I was a Christian I couldn't fail in business.
