    Mark 12

28  One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"

29  "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

No conflicts but it does take some searching sometimes, looking at different translations will often help you get back to the original meaning.

Daniel Wallace (expert in ancient texts and early Biblical manuscripts) in an interview in the book "The Case for the Real Jesus" says  "It's disturbing that when it comes to the Christian faith, people don't really want, or know how, to investigate the evidence"

  3. I don't understand what it is you don't see about the Luke & Matt. verses.  There is no contradiction and I don't see why you were confused about it.

Maybe you meant the trinity for the name of all three together, but added these names:

The Great I Am, The Almighty God, Yahweh, Yeshua, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, the Prince of Peace, the Savior of the World, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, and other names.

  4. Father God

    son man

    holy spirit woman

  5. Repentance and remission in Luke, baptism in Matthew.

  6. Same name that was given to Moses...

  7. When you do something "in the name of," you are claiming authority of that person, object, idea, et cet., to perform your actions.

Therefore, in the Mark passage, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost," means with the authority of the Holy Trinity.

The Luke passage is referring specifically to Jesus (the Christ).  (ref verse 46)

Edit:  You should always read at least 6 verses before and 6 verses after a quoted verse to ensure you have the proper context.

  8. Lord Jesus Christ...........and I believe that we should Baptize in the name of The Lord Jesus Christ.
