...He would have sinned, right? And He would have no longer been holy? And by extrapolation, the entire Godhead would have become unholy, huh? That was quite a pivotal time?

  1. well since he was 100% god and 100% human he would have succumed to his human temptation which would have been a sin so yes that is why it is such a huge part of the gospels

  2. Thats why God is so forgiving because he knows our temptations

    tGod bless

  3. Had Christ sinned he would not have been the son of God nor a part of the Holy Trinity.

  4. Is it really temptation if you know you will have dominion over all?

I believe it was an attempt at temptation. And a poor one at that.

  5. He would not be the Son of god if he had yielded to sin.

And He would have no longer been holy? Jesus would never Sin

And by extrapolation, the entire Godhead would have become unholy, huh? No Jesus was tempted by his flesh to Sin but the power of god in the human body resisted Sin.

  6. He could not.  HE had to be perfect to fullfill the law of Moses or 10 commandments.  He redeemed us from the law, for those who believe.  IF not than we would still be under the 10 commandments

  7. He was in all points tempted even as we are, yet without sin.

  8. Yeah ... but since it is patently impossible for God to commit a sin ... there was nothing at all to worry about.

It was necessary for Jesus to be tempted, just as Adam was, to demonstrate the importance of rejecting Satan, and all his works ... and to show God's infinite superiority, compared to Satan.
