Question:

Christians: If you want to left alone and not have anyone question your beliefs, then why do you come here?

I really like most of you, I think you are educated and loving people, but you cannot expect to come to a website knowing there are people of differing beliefs than yours and expect not to be asked questions. Ignore the trolls, ignore the meaningless immaturity, enjoy the humor, that's what makes us human beings. If we stop answering troll questions and stop reporting each other then maybe the future of this site holds real potential for discourse.

  1. I come here so that I can spread the good news about Him to those who may have never heard of it before.

All people need Christ in the end. If not, they go to h**l for all eternity. I'm just trying to warn everyone in a loving fashion about this absolute truth

  2. I come for the crab legs, open bar, and babby dip.

  3. Primoa forgot to take his medication again!

  4. The above is why I come here, for the humor and fun and insights that this place can provide.  Yes there are some great people here, yet on the other hand there are some rather twisted evil people too.  Ones that give their belief systems a bad name and perpetuates myths.  I love coming here, and I love most of you guys' questions, I see the jokes lurking inside of them and I do try to respond to them.  What makes me want to groan is when I know it's an obvious joke, and there are people who take it so literally that you'd love to give them a V8 and tell them to gain a sense of humor.

    kitteh hugs (no claws used)

Edit:  BTW, did I mention that I'm addicted to this site?

  5. I agree with you, my friend...........I - personally - have no problem answering someone who wants to know what I believe and why I believe it............nor do I intentionally 'put down' the beliefs of other people...........

I'm learning to 'avoid' a large number of troll questions............and trying my best to 'enjoy' humor where I find it...........

    God Bless...............

  6. I actually come here to learn.  Novel concept, isn't it?

Yeah, I understand about ignoring the trolls, etc, but that's not always easy.  Remember, we are human beings too, with all the emotions and feelings everybody else has.  And it's just as wrong for someone to put us down as it is for us to put someone else down based solely upon beliefs.

Question our beliefs and ask questions all you want.  Just please do it in a respectful manner.

  7. Very good, Teh!  Very good.

I am the Epislon and the Theta.

  8. You are forgetting... these are folks who believe deep in the psyches that this mythological crapola is REAL.  They are convinced that their way is the way to avoid a finite end, and they can't understand why any of us would not want this.

  9. Some just like to make trouble and be a pain to others they see as "going to h**l" like myself.  I want to discuss what happened to me in the past and get others take on the whys and hows that society let this happen to me and others and how to stop it.  For that I am told a great many awful things about my future and myself personally.  I can only come to the conclusion that I am a threat of some kind to them and that is why I am attacked.  A mirror held up to them and they don't like to see what they are becoming.  Or they don't want others to see what they are.  I hope this changes but I am not holding my breath.  Good luck at trying to make peace but in my experience these people don't want peace ... they are in to war and blood.  They are taught it by their good book from the time they are children.  They think that is where the glory is.

  10. I agree. They shouldn't come here for "extremely" serious Bible topics either, like "Is pre-marital s*x wrong?" (etc).

Everyone here beliefs something different!! Ask your pastor! They should expect to get answers from 100's of different sources against the Bible.

  11. It is a good way to find out why the world is in such a poor state

I believe i am a christian with cristian values but in my street there are christians that don't talk to me but her parents do

So much for Love thy neighbour

  12. That's the question christians have been avoiding to answer in more than many ways and suffering as a result thereof.

  13. I want to learn about other beliefs and maybe expand my own by learning of other beliefs. I do not like the ignorant answers, but when I can learn something that informs me as to why another Christian has a different view than I do, or even why an atheist has a belief, or lack of one I think it is good. I don't know why people use a forum like this to bash other people, but I guess we all say things at one time or another that is negative, or sarcastic. But hopefully not ignorant.

  14. I have no problem with that.  Just dont blaspheme God.  He is real and I dont want anything bad to fall upon people.  When you walk outside of His blessings it leaves you wide open to all kinds of things.

  15. Tyme Kitteh,

I love it here.  I enjoy the humor and the wonderful friends that I have made.  I also enjoy answering R&S questions when they are asked.  Have a great weekend.

    Thanks,

  16. I don't think it bothers many of us Christians to have people ask questions or even challenge our interpretation of the Bible. What does bother us is when the other person is disrespectful or crude in their questions or comments. I know that some Christians give back as much as they get.....no excuses for them either. Being disrespectful or hateful is not what God has asked of us.

I tend to agree that the easiest way to stop the fighting is to ignore any question that is disrespectful....regardless of who posts it. I have respect for those who do not believe as I do and would hope the same in return.

    I too am a peacemaker.

  17. Good point. If I wanted to be left alone and was afraid to face questions about my beliefs, I WOULDN'T be here. Some of the pagans and atheists on here give some of the funniest answers and some post the funniest questions. (I believe it's intentional on their part too.) ;D

  18. I never said I want to be left alone!!!  I would love to sit down and answer questions about my beliefs all day.  So come on over, let's have a cup of hot tea and talk away :)

  19. Yu can question my beliefs all you want. I then can state my faith in Christ and pray that some who reads my answers will come to know Him and know the peace and joy of living for Him. Anyone who questions my faith must be willing to hear my response without attacking me for my beliefs.

  20. I personally have not had any problems with other people on this site but we as christians come here to help lead people to Jesus and help answer their harder questions about spirituality in a more Christ-like way.

  21. I think some come here actually thinking people will convert to their religion. However, in my time here, it appears that christians are the main reason people will turn to atheism.

  22. I don't normally stick up for the christians

but i will this time, this is *Religion & Spirituality* after all

and they got a right to come here.

but i just asked my self a funny question  where does atheism  fit in?

it doesnt fit into Religion nor spirituality

  23. I should be asking you the same thing??

This is the Religion section and being an Atheist is not a Religion!

  24. Well, said. I don't want to "be left alone". that's why I block no one. and beg for honest discourse. I don't care if anyone questions my beliefs. The trolls can get irritating.

  25. I agree with you. This is a good forum. Some questions can be offensive if I choose to be offended. For me this forum is putting me deeper into the bible which is strengthening my walk with God. And I do enjoy the humor.

  26. Just do not put down, rant, swear, I'm fine.

  27. I come here so you will question away.  So keep those questions coming.  I never report anyone except for filthy talking that will reach the ears of our youth.  Filthy language is never necessary.  I love your question.  I love all people.

  28. Well, I come here to talk about religion, and people can question my Christian beliefs.  The more the question is thought provoking the greater I like this forum.

  29. As a Christian, I don't have any problems with people questioning my faith. I welcome it. It leaves room for conversation and allows me to correct inconsistencies on a persons perspective.

  30. With all due respect, what would organized religion do without what they perceive to be persecution?  Point in case, persecution has totally defined Mormonism into what it is today.  Same with Judaism.  Same with Catholicism.  Same with Hinduism.  Same with Islam.  Propagating the "us against the world" mentality is great for whipping the faithful into a frenzy.

  31. Very Very True, It is not that we want to be left alone and not question our beliefs, That's not it at all really,

It is that when we do answer the questions, the answers are dismissed out of hand and not even considered from an objective view point and often, if those answers are truly convincing, they themselves get reported and removed as it effectively answers the question, and those who are partisan in their viewpoints become angry at the answer and wish to have it removed as they were embarrassed by it,
