  1. It's interesting. I always knew he was there as a kid.  I felt him. I just knew.

Later He answered a prayer I had prayed as a child-35 years later. It was about being an adult and God was the ONLY explanation for it.

That made me get my sorry butt back in church!

    He is real

  2. I think it is the hope to know my Creator and the love He must have for me.

Everyone has a goal they are striving to achieve.  Those who reject God have the goal of living their lives independent of any authority over them.

  3. None taken.

I realized what a sinner I was.  I read in the Bible that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire.

I read that those who had had impure thoughts were guilty of adultery of the heart, and I read that disobeying my parents and failing to put God first in everything were sins against God.

I became convicted of my sins and I knew that when I stood before God, I was in trouble.  I found that that was why Jesus died on the cross- so He could take my punishment and let the wrath of God fall on Himself, instead of me.

I cried out in repentence, I hated the sins that had put a barrier between me and God.  I trusted Him to do what He said He would do - save me from my sins.  All the guilt and shame was washed away and I had peace that He saved me.

He changed my heart and gave me new desires.   I know in whom I have believed.

    Thanks for asking!

  5. indoctrination no offense

  6. The Bible holds out many truths.  You can expect different answers from different people as to which truth has lead to the belief in God.

In my case it is the future prospect of living forever on paradise earth.  In the meantime we all accept the fact that we get sick, grow old, and die.  But nobody really wants that to happen.  For many years man has tried different ways to find the “fountain of youth”.  God is the only one who has the real answer.

Romans 6:23 – “For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.”

1 John 2:25 – “Furthermore, this is the promised thing that he himself promised us, the life everlasting.”

Psalm 37:29 – “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.”

  7. I've always believed in God but that doesn't mean I've always been a christian.  It's been about 6yrs. that I began to follow Jesus.  The desire to be truly loved is what led me to God.  For many years I searched for love in drugs and s*x but was never fulfilled.  All I gained was a life of sin.  I wasn't searching for God because I didn't know better but God knew what I wanted and needed and that's how my journey began.  It hasn't been easy either, once I surrendered my will and my life to God then the tests of faith began, yes I failed many but because of my failures I learned to depend and trust the Lord and now I am beginning to see the blessings from this.
