  1. Law versus grace.

  2. In the old covenant you could keep slaves and have your daughter executed for the crime of getting raped.

In the new covenant you preach that everybody except church folks will go to h**l.

  3. The old covenant is based on the Law of Moses; the new on the Love of Christ.

  4. Salvation

  5. Basically the old is the one given to Moses as a way to tell the Jews how to act. The New was given by Jesus who explains how to save themselves spiritually. So one it the laws of God, the other is the graces of God.

  6. The old covenant that God had established with His people required obedience to the Old Testament Mosaic law. Because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), the law required that people perform rituals and sacrifices in order to please God and remain in His grace. The prophet Jeremiah predicted that there would be a time when God would make a new covenant with the nation of Israel.

"'The day will come,' says the Lord, 'when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. . . . But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,' says the Lord. 'I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people'" (Jeremiah 31:31, 33). Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law of Moses (Matthew 5:17) and create a new covenant between God and His people. The old covenant was written in stone, but the new covenant is written on our hearts, made possible only by faith in Christ, who shed His own blood to atone for the sins of the world. Luke 22:20 says, "After supper, [Jesus] took another cup of wine and said, 'This wine is the token of God's new covenant to save you – an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.'"

  7. Old Testament = The Messiah is coming to save us

New Testament = The Messiah came & will return

  8. The old covenant is living by the law waiting on the Messiah, The new covenant is the fulfillment of the of the law by the Messiah taking the form of a man in Jesus and giving his life on our behalf and now we are living by grace with the hope of salvation though our lord Jesus.

  9. God developed morality and sympathy.  I am surprised it took him so long.

  10. I suspect you already know by the way you are phrasing your questions.

but anyway - We were under the law before Christ came and died for our sins - (the ten commandments was the law)

    Now we are under grace!

No one is capable of keeping all the commandments thats why we needed Christ to die for our sins.

  11. the old covenant was to the jewish people, there were 5 covenants given over a period of time, but they were continually broken. the 6th. and final covenant was given  by jesus to the new israel . we gentiles and all nations, read his parable of the tenants. matthew 21 verses 33 onward and that should explain it all

  12. The old covenant has a salvation that has to be worked very hard at, and is very difficult to attain.  The new covenant is given by grace, in love, and freely, for a salvation that we cannot possibly be worthy of.

  13. In the "New Covenant" YHVH will write His Torah upon the humbled and circumcised hearts of His people.*

Jer 31:33  "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

The everlasting "old" covenant was made with the children of Israel which they broke. The new covenant restores the covenant with the divided Kingdom of Israel, the "House of Israel" and the "House of Judah".

Isa 24:5  The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Through the Messiah God provides a way to keep the covenant "everlasting" as He promised renewing it back with Israel.

THE NEW COVENANT, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY WHO IT IS TO BE MADE WITH, thanks:

Jer 31:31  "Behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,

In the Hebrew "old" covenant Israel was divided into two Kingdoms because of King Solomon's idolatry.

1 Ki 11:11  So the LORD said to Solomon, "Because you have done this, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.

Two Tribes, Judah and Benjamin were left with Solomon's son Rehoboam, the "House of Judah". Ten Tribes were given to Jeroboam, the "House of Israel".

1 Ki 11:13  "However, I will not tear away all the kingdom, but I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen."

1 Ki 11:31  And he said to Jeroboam, "Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes

Thus we now have the divided Kingdom of Israel, The House of Judah and the House of Israel.

Both Israel and Judah commit adultery (idolatry) and God divorces Israel. But for the sake of God's faithful and beloved King David, Judah remains intact (the Jewish people of today) and through this line the Messiah returns.

Jer 3:8  "And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a writ of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and was a harlot also.

2 Ki 8:19  However, the LORD was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of David His servant, since He had promised him to give a lamp to him through his sons always.

With His wrath kindled, God scatters and "sifts" the House of Israel among the nations or "gentiles".

1 Ki 14:15  "For the LORD will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and He will uproot Israel from this good land which He gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the LORD to anger.

1 Ki 14:16  "And He will give up Israel on account of the sins of Jeroboam, which he committed and with which he made Israel to sin."

Amos 9:9  For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

Under the new covenant God gathers Israel joining them back with Judah making them one Kingdom again.

    Ezek 37:21  "And say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;

Ezek 37:22  and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations, and they will no longer be divided into two kingdoms.

Ezek 37:23  "And they will no longer defile themselves with their idols, or with their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God.

David will be their King and YHVH will make His sanctuary and a covenant of peace with His people forever.

Ezek 37:24  "And My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes, and observe them.

Ezek 37:25  "And they shall live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons, and their sons' sons, forever; and David My servant shall be their prince forever.

Ezek 37:26  "And I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever.

As for the nations outside of Israel they to will be gathered with them through taking hold of the covenant of YHVH and observing His written Law or Torah.

    Isa 56:6  Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Isa 56:7  Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Isa 56:8  The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

Eph 2:12  remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

*Deu 10:16  "Circumcise then your heart, and stiffen your neck no more.

Deu 30:6  "Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live.

Jer 4:4  "Circumcise yourselves to the LORD And remove the foreskins of your heart, Men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Lest My wrath go forth like fire And burn with none to quench it, Because of the evil of your deeds."

  14. Why, if you are addressing Christians in the third person, do you purport to be so interested in our faith? The old covenant is made up of the Levitical Laws of the Old Testament. The new covenant was given by Jesus Christ in the New Testament. You ought to read it, it's very interesting.

  15. The Old and New Testaments.  Before and after Jesus Christ.

  16. The old one is going for half price?

  17. the new one is new and the old one is old.....got that.
