Christians: What would of happened if Emperor Constantine hadn't made Christianity official?

As most of us know, Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Byzantine Empire. But what would of happened if he hadn't? Would you all be Muslims then? Do you think that religious persecution wouldn't of happened? For example, the Inquisition, and the house-arrest of Galileo?

  1. Perhaps Paganism might be a leading religion in the world.

  2. then Pagans will dominate Christianity

  3. our name would have been something else.

but we would be the same.

Christian =  is a new name for a vary vary old religion

we believe in the God of Abraham Isac and Jacob

we also believe that the Jesus was Christ. and this is the splitting point.

the Jewish people are still waiting for the Messiah to come.

Same Religion just 2 different parts.

  4. There would probably be no such thing as Christianity!!

There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one!!! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!!

Outside of the bible he is not mentioned in anything until many years after his supposed death!!

Yes the Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible but he was a pagan not god!!!   He also organized Christianity into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!!  Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely Italian!!

What a wonderful disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Christian enemies - so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!!!

  5. It would not have been corrupted by the church of Rome

    tGod bless

  6. And what if King Cyrus of Persia had never sent the Israelites back to Jerusalem from their captivity in Babylon, setting the stage for the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Messiah?

The first event is a "type" for the second.

    God ordained both.

  7. Acts 11:26 - The disciples were called 'Christians' first at Antioch.

We would still be Christians as stated above ~ Christ is it's root and inception and that will never change  =)

  8. What-if questions are fun, at best.  Christianity was still quite a force to be reckoned with, with or without Constantine (who was the Emperor of Rome, not Byzantium, for the record).  Perhaps Christianity would still have triumphed.

Perhaps we'd all be involved in a new religion none of us can conceive of, perhaps we'd still worship Roman gods, perhaps we'd all be Taoists.

    Who knows.
