wilfull sins defile ones conscience...if one wilfully does what one knows is wrong , then to that one its sin imputed....if one wilfully ommits that which their faith has constructed then one wilfully sins and it is imputed to our charge by God

.

mistakes, faults of character, and errors of judgement do not have consent of conscience..and therefore are not imputed to our charge by God

..1) its impossible to do a wilfull mistake

.

..2) our culture upbringing influences us in ways that are not godly but as far as that particular culture goes acceptable so until we can disguish it we do not do it with consent of our conscience..

..

3) errors of judgement are done because we lack all accurate knowledge sometimes but we do not wilfully error in judging something so its not done with consent of our conscience

  1. The vast majority of sins are willful, but sometimes a person could sin unknowingly like listening to a supposed Christian band and find out later they're satanic.

For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins Hebrews 10:26

What willful means in this verse is that when one sins without temptation and sins just to spit in the face of God there remains no more hope for the person.

  2. Sin is based on intent, so it has to be willful. You must set out to do that which you already know is wrong. If you make an honest mistake, that is not planned and not a product of your will, and is not a sin. If you do a thing because you were brought up that way and do not see the sin in it, then that is also not a part of your will. Example:

    1. You choose to be racist, making a willful decision to hate others for some arbitrary reason. This is openly a sin.

    2. As a child you have a bad experience with someone of another race and have the typical reaction of disliking others of same race due to that, until you come to know better through experience. This is a mistake children often make in relation to anything that threatens them.

    3. You are brought up being taught from the cradle that certain races are dumber than others and can't help their actions. Without being offered alternatives to this idea, you will just accept it for the time being. This would be a sin on the part of those adults who taught you this, but it would not be on you.

  3. For your reasons, forgiveness is only necessary until you realize forgiveness is impossible. When we know better, we do better. We are all as perfect as God made us. As a blossom, we are unfolding, perfectly.

  4. I'd say you've got some really good points there, worth discussing.

My personal belief: I don't think it's possible to have full and complete knowledge of a sinful act (only God does), even if the act is willful.

I think that Yahoo Answers is probably not the best place to stimulate philosophical discussion about concepts such as these.

  5. Too much for me to finish reading, so I will say this, sinning willfully will sear your conscience as with a hot iron, Paul the apostle said that, he calles it, "having their conscience seared as with a hot iron".

  6. No

trust in the Spirit that God has sent to indwell with us, or conscience should only listen there.

  7. some of it I agree but NOT all!

  8. 1.  It is possible to willfully sin (and even willfully make mistakes when you let yourself get to the point of committing them).  I used to do it everyday.  I knew what God's word said and I went against.  I knew not to drink, and that it was bad for me, but I got drunk almost every night.  I knew smoking could kill me.  I smoked 4-1/2 packs a day.  I knew how God hates premarital s*x and well, I did that too.  I knew that where hate abound the love for God could not, but I hated so many people, so much.  The list of the sins I done goes on and on.  So see, I willfully sinned.  I knew better, but I did it anyway, and I suffered for it.  The Bible says that you reap what you sow and trust me I sowed destruction and I reaped it right back.

    2.  Our society Ok's a lot of things that go against God, but that does not mean that it's OK to do them because a culture says so.  Wrong is wrong no matter how many try to fight it.  In some countries it is ok to throw your baby in the river if it is a girl because girls are worthless.  The culture ok's it, but it is still wrong.  God has laws and man tries to erase them or ok breaking them but it doesn't work that way.  Man's ruling does not overturn God's.

    3.  I have the same answer for this one as I did for #1.  I know speeding is illegal, but I pull onto a road posted at 55mph, but I'm going 70mph and I haven't seen a mph sign.  I get pulled over for speeding.  Will I have to pay a ticket?  Yes I will.  Ignorance is no exception to the law.

I praise God for His love and mercy!  I came to Him w/ a repentant heart and He forgave me of all my sins, He washed them all away!!

  9. It's statements not statement - consistent with the rest of the bad grammar.

  10. Yes, agreed.

  11. Jesus said when asked about the law that Moses decreed where a man could put away or divorce his wife, that it was wrong. But there was a cloak for your sin. I think if we sin in ignorance or just plain wasn't informed in the manner, then yes, it is innocent in a way. But we willfully sin, no doubt. Just don't get caught up in the, "You can blame someone, or something, as long as its not me". Be a man and take responsibility for your mistakes, even if you didn't realize it at the time. When you do see the light, ask those people for forgiveness. In this way you are cleared in God's eyes, even if they don't forgive you.  Man up with the Holy Spirit.

  12. Works for me.

  13. It sounds like sinful man trying to say "Hey its not my fault", the bible describes the heart of man and it is evil to the core. we are sinful people regardless of anything. we are without excuse, dont let theology cloud your mind and convince you it aint 100% your fault, the moment you do that is the moment you can no longer be forgiven by God.

  14. No. I tend not to agree with statements that are a poorly written attempt to sound intelligent. It's a matter of principle. If someone doesn't communicate their point clearly, they don't fully understand it.
