  1. Yes.

  2. Yes I do.

  3. I just can't see how someone could live their whole life around a book that written who knows when.

Is someone going to stumble upon one of my old diaries years from now and base a religion off of it?  Doesn't that sound ridiculous?

Some people just need something to believe in though, so good for them.  If it keeps you sane and gives you a sense of meaning, then go for it.

  4. The Bible explains that God shortened human lives after the flood to limit the damage they could do.  That means that man, even in his fallen state, was extremely resilient.  That's true even today.  Man is a long-lived creature compared to many other animals.

In a more general sense, is it realistic to love your enemies? No.  Is it realistic to bless those that persecute you?  No.  Is it realistic to expect God to forgive and forget every imaginable crime just because Jesus died instead?  No.  Is it realistic to believe in a God powerful enough to completely overwhelm the assumptions of naturalism?  No.  Not unless you look at the whole picture.  I honestly believe that it wouldn't be realistic to expect the human race to be remotely civilized without the influence of religion.  People who argue otherwise do so from within a stable society that allows free speech, never realizing how rare, historically, the phenomenon of free speech really is.  They also fail to see how many of society's servants are motivated by the teachings of the Bible.  John Loche is right about man's natural state.  I'd say we live in a very unrealistic world, and the Bible is a powerful stabilizer.

  5. I'm not Christian, but a lot of my Christian friends prefer to think of the bible stories as figurative rather than literal. There wasn't literally a Garden of Eden, but it represents a more innocent time; there's no literal h**l or heaven, but it will be a state of mind.

  6. While "Christians " and athiest fight for truth whom finds it? Niether as they are very busy at each others throats to support an idea.

Being caught up in ones own narrowed beliefs, be they evolution or thiest, can one not see how each is blind?

Many a 'Christian" does not know Jesus any more than the Athiest.

Jesus represented Truth within the biblical works, he did not represent the Christian Idol "son of God" and Christians were warned of this time and again not to worship a false God, yet they continue.

This statement requires thought of self and to place false beliefs aside of whom Jesus was.

It is easy and Lazy-spritualy to lay claims to Jesus as an idol and to adore him and to simply say "I Believe" to reach everlasting "heaven". Such distortion of reality sets one up for repeated lives of worship and unlearned lessons.

The real undistorted Jesus was Truth incarnate.

Jesus represented Truth In Self, the other 12 Apostles represented, in symbolic form, mankinds other 12 personalities shown in the Zodiac. It is no coincidence there are 12 signs within the Zodiac having different personalities as each personbality is intended to reflect mankinds ways of thinking. Jesus "way of thinking, acting" is a red flag on "Gods ways". Many cannot grasp this as they are caught up in the distorted Vatican views and are lost.

Look outside the Bible for there is more truth there than within it...

  7. The bible also says with God all things are possible.I saw a ninety year old man riding a bike the other day.

  8. Yes.

And when honest smart people attempt the prove the Bible wrong they often end up being converted, such as Frank Morrison and Josh McDowell and Lee Strobel.

Feel free to Google their names.

  9. You also have to consider many other things. How can a donkey talk? How can a river seperate into two creating walls of water on both sides of a path way? How can God become a man? All these things are impossible for man to do or comprehend but they are in the Bible. Only God can do these things, and with God anything is possible. Do you really think that God cannot do these things? Of course it doesn't suprise me. If you don't believe in God, then how will you believe any of the things that He has said?

  10. Of course they think the Bible is realistic...that is why they are Christians.

  11. i think it is a story book it is a book of other people experiences that many people feel they can relate to which makes them feel that it gives them answers it does make sense its just that people take it too far they've....i cant think of the word but i dont think it needs to be put up on the pedestal that its on it is just a book written by some men whether they were being spoken to god or whatever is just hearsay basically i think if that book helps you feel better ok and if u practice what is truely in there then good because the main point of any "guidelines" is to be a good person be nice to eachother dont hurt peoples feelings and dont do anything that will hurt someones feelings. how many people do that for real? how many so called christians truely practice that? this site is proof that christians dont practice what they preach so its still not what its supposed to be no book or cross is going to make someone a better person either you are or you arent and what you believe in is not going to change that. so i think people need to put the book down and stop using their religion as a shield from reality and having to be a real person and the actual meaning will come out but until then a book is a book

  12. honestly yes. do you honestly think it will change your believe if you get these anawer? please think about the questions below.

if you believe there is no god, and there isn't. then you are smart. but for what benefit? you still die someday right?

if you believe there is no god and there is. then you're s***w big time. when you die someday. right?

if you believe in the wrong god. you are still s***w if not worse for sure, since you still die someday, right?

being smart or s***w by own choice. right?

  13. Definitely.  More realistic than those bunny ears.

In the perfect state, Adam’s body had the potential of being sustained forever and that would also have been true of other sinless humans. So, since man was created to enjoy an endless life-span, it logically follows that Adam and his early descendants must have lived far longer than their later descendants who were farther removed from perfection.

  14. Yes, I think an oral tradition recorded by bronze-age nomads and by an unhappy occupied nation aught to be the source for everybody's belief system whether they like it or not. *sarcasm*

  15. Some of it is.

The Bible contains poetry, songs, history, metaphor, rules and laws, genealogies, prophecies, stories related to one group of people, etc.

Parts thereof are about real and actual events, and parts thereof were meant to be mystical and symbolic.

  16. No they dont which is why none of them practice it at all, which is why their so-called religion is such a joke

  17. Of course every single word, every single letter is real in the Bible. Everything when in faith is very real! You are thinking about things more in a scientific explanation, but when you believe things to be possible alongside God, believing in Him. Having faith in making the impossible, possible with God makes it all real! God Bless you and may He bestow upon you His words of wisdom.

  18. Yes, amazingly they do.   Brainwashing DOES work.

  19. Yes.  I think that some of the language is metaphoric.

  20. anyone who's taken a high school biology class can tell you how silly the bible is at explaining how humans came into existence.  i think its great however, that you can accept the fact that life came from the ocean, but still believe in a higher power and being a good person.  hopefully people shift from organzied religion into being good people on their own. nobama 2k8!

  21. i consider it inspiring and necessary because it has our commandments and our beattitudes, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, these are tools given to us to live by, i take what i can use and leave the rest..men did have a hand in it after all.

  22. Honey, Id explain it to you... but I dont think your little mind would be able to process everything, Honestly.

    *sigh*

Just to prove my point, if I would have taken this question seriously it would have been a waste of time.. I knew it would get to you lol.

    you must be canadian...

Please stop emailing me.... why do you care what I think anyway?

  23. I know it's real. It's holding up the air conditioner on the outside window sill. I don't believe the BS in it though.

    Deist

  24. Yes We honestly think that the bible is realistic.

  25. Yes, I do.  Do you honestly think evolution is realistic? They both require faith.  I personally find it easier to believe the Bible.

  26. The Bible is not a science book, it's not a history book, it's not a newspaper trying to report all the "facts."  Any attempt at a literal reading of the Bible is doomed.

What the Bible does is tell the truth about the relationship between God and God's creation.

    Nice ears.

    .

  27. It's accurate (nowhere does it contradict science fact - evolution is only a theory), although there is symbolic language in it.

Re Noah: At that point they were only a few generations from Adam, who could have lived forever. Humans were much closer to perfection and had less sin (inherited imperfection) at the time, hence they were healthier and lived longer. It's like a letter being copied and recopied many times. Eventually the original meaning will be lost or hidden

  28. The Bible is realistic & the future of our lives is written in the bible. Furthemore, the Bible aids alsways- the Christian faith is founded on believing & trusting in GOD the creator of all things

  29. TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION!  hE HE

The Bible actually explains that men/women were "allowed"

to live that long at first, then their life span was shortened

    due to abuses of life.

The natural cause was environmental change - we could

no longer live to that age - it is a good thing because the

world would be very very populated - too populated!

  30. It is God's word and needs to be accepted as such. It is a treasure beyond any monetary consideration.

  31. It's as reliable as the air we breath.
