Question:

Christians say that the New Testament fulfilled the "Old Covenant", if so?

If someone comes along and says, "This newer Covenant Version 3.0 fulfills the New Covenant (i.e. with Jesus taking your sins)... and therefore now you can just forgive yourself for your sins, and YOU are your own GOD now? Would you claim that's false that a newer covenant can override yours?

  1. I would first ask for proof of the new covenant, then compare with scripture. The Old Testament foretold a new covenant. The New Testament says "It is finished." Any new covenant simply would not be compatible with scripture and easily discounted on those grounds.

  2. Yea, because you have it wrong. You cannot forgive yourself. And you are not your own God.

You are forgiven by our High Priest Jesus and He is God.

  3. What are the qualifiers for the version 3.0?

  4. rgaertret

  5. No, because the Prophets of the Old Testament only promised ONE Savior, which was Jesus before the end of the earth.

Maybe if you survive Armogeddon, you'll find that wonderful Vista.

  6. What? lol this question makes no sense

The reason it is fulfilled is because Jesus fulfilled it.

That is all No regular old person can fulfill the bible

Though you have many that try to do that.

I believe 90% of christians love and follow the devil more than God

  7. Both the Old and New Covenants were initiated by God. Only God can initiate a covenant. So the answer is, if you're stupid enough to think that a mere man can come along saying he has a new covenant, then you probably deserve to be deceived by him into following along.

  8. you can not forgive your own sin.

  9. That would be kind of amusing, actually. Watching the christians be told that they were sinners...Karma.

  10. First of all, who does this "someone that comes along" think they are?

And what right would someone whom committed a sin have to forgive their own sins?

After all that person made the mistake to begin with, so just how "perfect and just" are they?

We will always have sin in our lives unfortunately.  That is why is took God Himself to forgive us with His blood as atonement for our sin.  Sin in any form is evil, at any degree. It can not exist with God.

Therefore if we want relationship with our Maker we have to accept what He did for us a fact, and live our lives in appreciation for that. If someone grabbed the wheel right before we got in an accident, would we be grateful for them?  Would that person become a hero? Absolutely!!!  It says in Romans 1 that people exchanged worshiping the Creator for the created; i.e. ourselves, possessions, drugs, other people...and 'professing to be wise, they became fools'  it then goes on to say that because they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He lets you lose your mind, go crazy....look at Hitler....he worshiped himself...he didn't think he had to 'forgive himself'...We need God...When Jesus died the last thing He said was "It is finished"...no need for another covenant....it's done...God Himself paid the price...I would love to show you more please email me....

  11. Yes it would be false if the terms of a new or different covenant was to override the original. The terms being the Torah or "Law" which will be written upon the hearts of His people.

Deu 13:1  "If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

Deu 13:2  and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,'

Deu 13:3  you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deu 13:4  "You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.

Deu 13:5  "But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has counseled rebellion against the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to seduce you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from among you.

Jer 31:33  "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

    Parable of the Messiah:

Luke 16:29  "But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.'

Luke 16:30  "But he said, 'No, Father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!'

Luke 16:31  "But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.'"
