Galatians 1:6-9, "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

  1. Its a warning to those who follow God that have been deceived by false teachers. Do not believe anyone who teaches another gospel then the gospel of Salvation by Jesus who died on the cross and raised from the dead.

Even if it appears to be a angel that says here is the true message from God not the scriptures in the bible.

Any one who does this paul says let him be banned or excommunicated from among you.

  2. It means to be alert for people who claim to come to you in the name of Christ but violate the tenants of the teachings. Not eveyrone who claims to be a christian follows the example of Christ, particularly the greatest commandment;

"Love thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul and all thy might; and liken unto this, love thy neighbor as thyself."

If a "christian" comes to you without love in their heart, they do not know christ.

  3. That there is no other Gospel then that which Jesus taught to and by his apostles and if anyone comes with a "new" or other testament  besides this even if they say a Angel hand delivered it to them , have no part ...call them accursed.

Jesus said from the cross "it is finished" we do not need no add on to suit men's traditions and rituals.

  4. The Apostle Paul is writing this letter to the Church of Galatia.  He is telling the members that he cannot believe that they are being swayed away from Christianity by the teachings of another group.  He is cursing anyone, including an angel who would teach anything other than the Gospel of Jesus the Christ.

    All the best!

  5. Well, obviously the Mormans come to mind.

  6. I suppose the main point is that there is no other true gospel than the gospel of Jesus Christ. Even if someone was a Christian and maybe preached about Islam, then it is not a true gospel.

  7. There were ppl preaching contrary to the gospel in Paul's day.

  8. Paul was talking to the Church at Galatia, they knew the truth, but started listening to lies.

    Read the whole chapter.

    Read this modern English translation:

Gal 1:1   This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group or by human authority. My call is from Jesus Christ himself and from God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

Gal 1:2   All the brothers and sisters here join me in sending greetings to the churches of Galatia.

Gal 1:3   May grace and peace be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gal 1:4   He died for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.

Gal 1:5   That is why all glory belongs to God through all the ages of eternity. Amen.

Gal 1:6   I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who in his love and mercy called you to share the eternal life he gives through Christ. You are already following a different way

Gal 1:7   that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who twist and change the truth concerning Christ.

Gal 1:8   Let God's curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed.

Gal 1:9   I will say it again: If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God's curse fall upon that person.

Gal 1:10   Obviously, I'm not trying to be a people pleaser! No, I am trying to please God. If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ's servant.

Gal 1:11   Dear brothers and sisters, I solemnly assure you that the Good News of salvation which I preach is not based on mere human reasoning or logic.

Gal 1:12   For my message came by a direct revelation from Jesus Christ himself. No one else taught me.

Gal 1:13   You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion-how I violently persecuted the Christians. I did my best to get rid of them.

Gal 1:14   I was one of the most religious Jews of my own age, and I tried as hard as possible to follow all the old traditions of my religion.

Gal 1:15   But then something happened! For it pleased God in his kindness to choose me and call me, even before I was born! What undeserved mercy!

    Gal 1:16   Then he revealed his Son to me so that I could proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When all this happened to me, I did not rush out to consult with anyone else;

Gal 1:17   nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. No, I went away into Arabia and later returned to the city of Damascus.

Gal 1:18   It was not until three years later that I finally went to Jerusalem for a visit with Peter and stayed there with him for fifteen days.

Gal 1:19   And the only other apostle I met at that time was James, our Lord's brother.

Gal 1:20   You must believe what I am saying, for I declare before God that I am not lying.

Gal 1:21   Then after this visit, I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia.

Gal 1:22   And still the Christians in the churches in Judea didn't know me personally.

Gal 1:23   All they knew was that people were saying, "The one who used to persecute us now preaches the very faith he tried to destroy!"

Gal 1:24   And they gave glory to God because of me.

  9. Legalist Christianity! Something I've said much on. They practically have overtaken the entire church. And not too soon, because these times are about at an end.

  10. There is one true gospel, Paul says so. He is saying if anyone preaches something other than the true gospel than he would be accursed. It pertains to false preachers.

  11. paul warns the church of the apostasy that is trying to infiltrate it.

  12. First of all we need to establish what gospel Paul believed in and taught. Also we need to know if this gospel was in fact the gospel God gave to mankind originally. Once we have this information then we can understand what the Apostle Paul was saying here to the Church in Galatia.

It is very clear from the Bible that the gospel of only Jesus' death on the Cross as  believed in  today was not the complete gospel. This half a gospel is no gospel at all according to the Bible for it makes God out to be a liar (1 John 5:6-11).

Here Paul was rebuking this young Church as they were allowing the circumcisionists to slip into their midst and probogate their legalistic doctrines which was not what Paul had taught them.

These kinds of peope are today's legalistic blood only doctrine believers. If Paul was alive today he would rebuke these sinner Christians even more accutely. T

The gospel that Jesus gave and taught His disciples was the one called 'The water and the Spirit' (John 3:5). In other words, it is Jesus  water baptism by John the Baptist and His blood on the Cross. This gospel is also known as the righteousness of God. And if anyone rejects it or despises it, they are in fact rejecting and despising the righteousness of God. Just how many people are guilty of this great sin today? Millions.....just as spoken by Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23.

So this is what the Apostle Paul was saying here, 'This half a gospel of only the blood on the Cross, is no gospel at all!' For it cannot remmit anyone of sin and make them into a righteous person. This is why churches today are filled up with sinners, all trying to get into heaven by saying their repentance prayers in perpetuity.(John 10:1).

  13. The only one who came close, in my opinion, is tuberoot.  It's all about the fact that Jesus delivered us from the old testament law and the legalist were trying to put them back under law again.  Same as today and will be until Christ returns.  It seems to me that most of Christianity still does not see the true gospel and like little babies want to stay under the law.

  14. It would pertain to anyone preaching a gospel other than the grace of Christ both then and now.

No grace of Christ, no gospel.

    Ole!

  15. Yep. Just what it says!

  16. any cult. jw's, mormons, catholics some,. keep it simple jesus died and rose again. get away from this and then you might get problems

  17. The Galatians and all christians (followers of christ) If any one comes with a different gospel than of Christ Jesus that Paul preaches don't listen and follow them. they are accursed. Also read 2nd John.1:9 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

  18. We can apply this verse to every Cessationist.
