Christine Biloxi wins 500m freestyle title in Cleveland: 2011 High School State Championships
The 2011 High School State Championships saw several impressive performances in Division 2 (5A-6A) category in Cleveland, Mississippi, on Tuesday, November 1.
Christine Field of Biloxi went on to clinch the 500m freestyle title by hitting the finishing wall in a fastest time of 5 minutes and 34.00 seconds. In the meantime, Laken Vickers of Starkville took home the100m breast-stroke title by posting a winning time
of 1 minute and 07.85 seconds. Additionally, 200m Individual Medley crown was taken over by Ocean Springs' Ashley Moore in a winning time of 2 minutes and 14.81 seconds.
Tupelo’s quartet of Scott, Gray, Rachel Wilson and Russell pocketed 200m medley relay title by posting a thrilling time of 1 minute and 43.95 seconds. Meanwhile, 400m freestyle relay crown was clinched by Tupelo club in a winning mark of 3 minutes and 46.50
seconds.
On the other hand, the 200m medley relay title was taken over by Jones, Rick Deaton, Jesse Ware and Connor Anderson with a triumphant mark of 1 minute and 42.77 seconds. Next, the 200 freestyle relay crown was notched by Ray, Deaton, Ware and Fremont in
a blot of 1 minute and 31.17 seconds.
In addition, Fremont of Tupelo took home the 100m butterfly title by touching the finishing wall in an impressive time of 52.54 seconds. Moreover, Fremont claimed a stunning victory in the 200m Individual Medley by thrashing the finishing wall in a blot of
1 minute and 58.54 seconds.
Furthermore, the 100m breast-stroke crown was clinched by Deaton in a matchless mark of 1 minute and 01.75 seconds, whereas, Jones claimed a victory in a 100m back-stroke by hitting the finishing wall in a mark of 55.38 seconds.
In the 50 freestyle meet, Parker King of Madison Central snatched the golden crown by posting a winning time of 22.25 seconds. Additionally, King won second title in the 100m freestyle by submitting a striking time of 48.92 seconds. Parker King’s partner,
Jackson Kojima grabbed the 500m freestyle title in a mark of 4 minutes and 51.81 seconds.
The winners of the respective races were awarded medals and accolades after the session’s completion.
