Hello.I need some help with a point of fact.During the period 1960 to 1964,were there any railway services which ran on Christmas Day from Liverpool Street Station to Harwich please? If yes,can you help me with times of trains, types of trains, and fares if possible.

Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give me.

  1. as far as i am aware there was 2 trains. one in and one out. It also carried specially franked christmas day mail. The guards name was simpson and was pulled by evening star, the drivers name was more than likely Bill Sayer ( my ex wifes grandad ) and his fireman was Joe Brown (from joe brown and the bruvvers )

As far as times were concerned it only went to meet the ferry in from harwich which used to be a midday sailing. so it probably got in about 11.00 and left about 13.00 but thats about as much as i know.

    Hope this helps

  2. Maybe the "Hook of Holland" train to Harwich for the ferry.
