Question:

Christmas List for a 4 year old?

My daughter is 4 years old. Christmas is coming up a lot faster than I anticipated, and I have no idea what to get her. My husband and I do not want to get her any toys unless they are very educational. She loves to play sports like t-ball, cheerleading, and field hockey. She is going to be in the middle of pre-school, so we would like some things that can help her learn and school or active entertainment. Any ideas?

  1. my 4year son has a Leapster and love's it.  He received it last Christmas and still plays with it almost every day. He already knows his Alphabet, numbers and is learning how to read it's  a great educational toy.   This year we are going to buy him the V-Tech laptop and a few new games for his leapster.

  2. As far as educational toys go I have always found that the leapster is one of the best educational gifts you could give a child but is also a lot of fun! My mom has bought a new one for each of my three youngest siblings for the past several Christmases and they all have enjoyed them a lot. All my siblings were not only able to read well by kindergarten but they also were a bit ahead in other subjects as well. I would also suggest buying Muzzy, the language bear thing. My best friend's little brother and sister have been using it and its kind of amazing how well they are doing in a language I've been trying to learn since 5th grade! And maybe a globe or something like that. I would also try to buy her some small toys that are just for fun. Kids at this age need to have fun that's not always educational! Maybe some toys that have good values would be good, like the Carebears, my little sister used to always get a bear with a movie that taught a little lesson at the end, or my little pony, Winnie the Pooh, a little doll, or a play house or dress up box. Just something that she can have fun with. Good luck!

  6. like debbie v said a leapster.

its fun cuz its a video type game thing, but yet you learn at the same time. also if you dont mind if he/she uses your computer there are millions of software discs that she can instal to the computer, like jump start kindgergarten and stuff. we just gave all my old ones to my niece and they work perfectly.

    hope i helped.

  7. Get her a Speak N Spell. She'll love it and you will be happy that she is learning.

  8. There are so many beautifully illustrated hardcover books, both holiday and non-holiday related. They're typically pricey--usually between $15 and $20, but as a special gift, I think it's worth it.

Leapsters are pretty cool--my niece has one and enjoys playing with it.
