I am intersted in how many of you go to visit the Christmas markets abroad and what you think of them.

I am considering going on a trip to either:

Lille

Brussles

Bruges

or paris on Eurostar

which would be the best please?

  1. The Christmas Market In Colne, in Germany is a great place to visit

But as that is not on your list, I suggest Paris

  2. You can actually get a through ticket with Eurostar to Cologne, Germany - couldn't really be done in a day trip though.

As others have said, Germany sets the standard with Xmas Markets, and Cologne is one of the best. Alternatively, you could also go to Aachen, also in Germany, with a Eurostar through ticket

  3. Christmas markets in Germany set the standard.

I went to one in Braunschweig, not a large city or anything like that but it knocked the spots off anything I've seen elsewhere outside Germany.

  4. My family go on them every year and they are really nice, lots of nice things to buy, i would suggest Brussels. Travelsphere the travel agents are good prices.

  5. The Germans and Austrians practically invented Christmas, so I'd suggest going to either of those places for the markets. I do remember the huge Christmas market on the Marienplatz in Munich, it was fantastic.

  6. The best place is "Nuernberg" in Germany

  7. Germany first, closely followed by Brussels. Lots of great things we dont get in UK.

  8. Christmas market in Nuremberg, Germany is meant to be absolutely amazing. Buuut it's not on your list, so I would say Paris!
