  1. Keeping in mind luggage allowance, your present should be personal but small. I would suggest a travel toiletries set that can be refilled.I would choose their favourite perfume or aftershave or skin products or get them a passport holder that holds all necessary travel docs.Wish them happy & safe travelling. You could also go online and find gift vouchers in Canada then they get what they really want.

  2. it all depends on where they are going.

you could get them a joint gift like a camera, or if it is a long trip something to remind them of home eg special fotos, stuff made from kids/ grandkids etc.

if they are going a little after xmas, there is always the stuff from canada eg the food, alcohol etc - so they grow accustomed to it.

    best of luck

  3. I had a friend move to Canada, and we bought her thermal underwear, longjohns etc, and had something special embroidered on the bottom, so she would remember us every time she put them on!

  4. If it were me I would love a gift voucher from a wet weather and cold weather store. It will be freezing in Canada and they will need those warm clothes. It may be hard to buy them that time of year though. An outdoors and hiking shop would be the best bet. Another idea is a prepaid credit card from the post office. This will come in very handy for them.

  5. a good atlas of Canada. If I were visting a new country I would really like a good map.
