I am planning on starting Christmas shopping extra early this year. This will be my first Christmas with my daughter and I don't really know what to get her. She will be 9 months old and I haven't the slightest clue as to what will be really exciting for her. What have you done in the past for your baby's first Christmas or what do you plan to do?

  1. My son is almost 9 months old and the things he loves are: toys, any toy that is brightly colored, has lights or plays music.  He also loves big stuffed animals, I got roped into getting him a 25 dollar batman at Target last week that is twice as tall as he is because he loved it so much and cried when i tried to put it back on the shelf!! Also stock up on clothes, stuff for next spring and summer that will probably be on sale this time of year bc they are startting to put out the winter clothes.  Any learning toys are great and things that can help her with her walking like walkers or my son loves his johhny jump up, its like a mini swing u hang from the door frame and they bounce up and down using their little legs.  Also educational toys are always a good idea, baby einstein play gyms, movies and books. Good luck!

  2. wal mart has some toys like chickens, pigs animals that make the noise of it;s type, those are great the kids laugh a lot with them, also try elmo, barney, and tree house toys, they like these a lot,and the toys are also for little ones, book's  by dr.suses is good they like the rhymes, winnie the pooh books, dolls that laugh, crawl, talk, there is so much,movies,...just make a lists of things you would like to see her with, and what you think she would like and get her that..cause family and friends will get her things too...only you know your child, and no matter what we say you will make the choice, and will make the right one too..so don't worry enjoy your shopping, have lots of fun, your heart will tell you what to get her trust me ...

  3. rideing toys, anything that can help her learn like blocks, stuffed animals that talk or make laughing sounds

  4. toys... you can get something to help her walk too... most babies by this time (well at 9 months) are just now walking or just about to walk.

  5. Babies are fairly easy. Just lots of fun toys that they can chew on, since she will most likely be teething. You can browse and get ideas online, as well!

  6. Emma is nine months old and likes playing with stacking rings, a shape sorter, more recently a baby doll.  You could get her a first christmas ornament....also toys that she can stand to play with.

  7. I didn't go "all out" when mine were under a year.  In fact, too many gifts might overwhelm her.

I got mine a few books, one big toy and a couple of smaller toys.  Oh and some clothes...

Oh and by the way, you're not the only one excited for Christmas this year.  My husband will be home for Christmas this year, after spending 15 months in Iraq.  So I'm over the moon for Christmas-time to get here.  :)

  8. I wouldn't go all out if I were you. My son was 10 months at Christmas last year and we got him tons of stuff. Books, toys, blocks, a ride on toy, big stuffed Tigger, etc. And all he wanted to play with was the wrapping paper and boxes.... I think you'll be safe getting just a few learning toys and a couple other small things. Its rather early, but my wishes to you and yours for a Merry Christmas! :)
