I teach preschool and have the 2/3 year olds. I need to be getting ready to make christmas gifts for the parents. Does anyone have any ideas that the children can do? Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

  1. my daughter is in the 4 yr old class in preschool this year and last year in her 3 year old class they made little christmas tree ornaments. the teacher cut out of felt a shape of a red mitten, then the kids put their hand in white paint and made a hand print on the mitten. punch a hole a tie some ribbon through it, permanent marker their name and the year on the back and you've got a classic. my daughter was so cute about it too last year, she was very proud of it and wouldn't let me open it until christmas morning, and then all christmas day she made sure everyone saw it hanging on the tree.

  2. Make a Star Tree Topper!

Craft paper (Gold color for example), the centerpiece of the toilet paper roll (the only thing left when it finished :-p), glue & gold color glitter powder and there you go~!

  3. pretty much anything the children make is going to be adored by the parents, maybe try a snowman made out of cotton balls on construction paper so the parents can put it on the refrigerator.

  4. I think that photos are always appriciated. I loved whenever I got photos of my child in preschool and school.

  5. Well, I would suggest using popsicle sticks to make picture frames and then having the kids decorate them. Or, you could get a bunch of plain wooden/ceramic ornaments from Michael's and have them fingerpaint. (I don't think they'll be coordinated enough for brushes.)

  6. Oriental Trading Company has some great ideas.  I also do childcare and I have been looking at a santa that uses the kids hand print as his beard.  Anyway, some of the crafts are more personalized than others.  Take a look at their web site.  They often sell their craft kits in 12 packs and are very inexpensive.

  7. Something simple to go on the fridge such as a piece of artwork - how about a collage of their handprints in festive green and red?  Those are always popular.

  8. My son made this is his pre-k class last year which consisted of 3 and 4 year olds.

    Snowmen!

Cut two sizes of circles out of white paper, give each child 2 circles (1 of each size), have them glue or tape them together to form the snowman, then have them draw the eyes, nose, and mouth, a scarf, and buttons on them (or cut and paste other bits of colored paper to make these).  Tie a string through the top to hang on the tree, wall, wherever for mommy and daddy.

    Have fun, Merry Christmas.

PS here's another one, cut 8-20 strips of paper or use the picture on old Christmas cards, etc, cut them all the same length, between say 3-6 inches long by 1/2 inch wide, hole punch a hole at the top and bottom of all strips, use a paper fastener on each end, flex then separate to form a ball, tie a string on one of the fasteners for a homemade ornament.

Cut circles (an even number) and glue 2 circles to a string (one on each side of the string to make homemade garland.

Tie 2 small bells to a ribbon, one on each end to make a bookmarker.

  9. omg when i was going through some old christmas decorations i found something my mom said i made in preschool. It was an angel that i decorated as an ornament. My teacher cut out the shape of an angel from cardboard and then let us decorate it using colored macaroni and sequins and then let us draw on the mouth, nose and eyes....the wings were so solorful! then she cut holes on the top and we put string through and tied it and it was an ornament!

  10. candles. or take pictures of students and create a booklet of what they have been learning and paste their drawings on paper and staple it all together. this is what my brother got from his teacher and we loved it!!

    good luck!

  11. candycane reindeer!

    They're adorable!

Dont forget the red nose! lol

  13. If you have cans you can make pencil holders! Then you can glue construction paper on them and the kids can put stickers and glue stuff on them.

And you can always make jewlery. :)

Oh and I don't know if you teach a Christian or Chatholic school but if not refer to them as "holiday gifts" so the other kids don't feel left out. :)

  14. By far the greatest gift is a homemade gift using pictures because everyone loves memories.

I found this easy to use product where you can actually make tons of different gifts for all sorts of people at all age groups--who knows you may be able to hit everyone on your list with this one product which is under $30.

These gifts can be used daily. If my parents didn't get their yearly calendar, they'd be sad. They look at those calendars and the sweet faces of their grandchildren each and every day. In fact, last year my father was a little mad that I didn't include a picture of myself on the calendar. So you can bet that this year's calendar will have each and every person in our family within the pages.

This product has a lot of pre-made scrapbooks

    a calendar

    a deck of cards

    flashcards

    memory cards

and all you have to do is add your own pictures and print.

This year, in addition to the calendars, I am making all my nephews their own set of memory cards with pictures of everyone in our family playing together! I'm going to get them laminated so they can last through spills and baby's mouths, etc. I also have a friend who plays cribbage like crazy, so I'll probably make her a deck of cards.

It's so easy anyone can do it, even me :) And yes, this one product will help me make personalized gifts for so many people.

And the second the product arrives in your inbox is the same second you can start using it.

    Visit http://www.squidoo.com/memorieslearningf...

and you'll be on your way to unique gifts.

I use this with my pre-schoolers and they just love doing it. You should check it out.

    I hope this helps!
