  1. Hiya,

Well on the 24th of December everything is open (unless the 24th is a sunday).

On Christmas day the main monuments and attractions are open, as well as the shops on Champs Elysees.

But the most of the other places such as restaurants, shops, supermakets...etc are closed.

But don't worry there is still some exceptions and you will find places open.

  2. I am not sure about what is open on Christmas Day, but I know it is a wonderful  time of year to be in Paris -- here are some great things about Paris at the Holidays:

Low airfares, hardly a line at any museum, Christmas concerts at cathedrals, beautiful decorations, and who of your friends wouldn't love a christmas gift from Paris - best shopping ever!

You can skate at an outdoor rink at Hotel de Ville (City Hall) admission free - pay only to rent skates.

The lights are elegant and fabulous (no tacky illuminated inflatables -- yay!!!) Bows, wrapped boxes, evergreen boughs, gold ribbons. Galleries Lafayette is always decked out, as are the little restaurants on the Left Bank / Latin Quarter

There is a Christmas market in Paris (like Christkindl markets in Germany) with wooden outdoor booths that sell quaint gifts, mulled wine, specialty foods and pastries

Take time out from shopping for a warm and cozy fondue dinner at one of the fondue restaurants in Latin Quarter. Communal tables are a great way to make new friends.

Stop in for a deliriously rich hot chocolate at Berthillon on Ile de St Louis - also home to most amazing ice cream ever.

There are fabulous concerts at Sainte Chappelle, St Severin, Madelaine and Julien de Pauvre - always some wonderful holiday music.

    Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee!
