Les Verts finally managed to find their silver lining as they go past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800, beating them in the Coupe de la Ligue semi-final to earn themselves a place in the final of the prestigious tournament.

AS Saint-Etienne defeated Lille OSC on penalties, in what proved to be a goalless but a thrilling encounter between the two sides. Les Verts coach, Christophe Galtier couldn’t help to control his emotions while praising his team for showing nerves of steel
till the very end of the game.
The Frenchman praised his team for the quality of football shown by them during the game against Lille. Galtier went onto praise Les Dogues goalkeeper, Steeve Elana for his skill and performance in the game. However, it was Les Verts who turned out to be
the winning team, despite the resistance displayed by their opponents. The coach exclaimed:
"We have a team of men. We came up against a good goalkeeper, but overall we played some nice football, very thorough and dynamic with the emphasis on going forward.”
Galtier has previously emphasized the importance of winning the silverware this season, and the Coupe de la Ligue seems like a realistic goal for the club. The coach feels determined to go all the way to win the title, and his team showed the same enthusiasm
as they showed real character in the game against Les Dogues. The 46-year-old stated:
“The match was prepared in the best manner possible with men who had the desire to go all the way. The objective was to at least go to the Stade de http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. I'm really proud of my players. I’m full of emotion.”
The tactician was glad that the supporters had finally something to cheer about, with the happiness being reflected by their applause following their win in the semi-final. However, the coach acknowledged that the club had been going through tough times
in their last few seasons, and have been underperforming close to the end of the year in their current season. But now that Les Verts have finally found that ray of hope, they’ll certainly hold onto it. He said:
“Everyone has a smile on their faces in what is a difficult time for everyone. If we've been able to give happiness and pride to AS Saint-Etienne fans, it's a good thing.”
