The Saint-Etienne coach has said that his side is ready for their up-coming match against I Turchini, and the Frenchman is not taking his opponents lightly
Les Verts have started the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign in a less than convincing fashion, with just three points from opening three games of the season.
After losing to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800 in their opening fixture of the campaign, ASSE were thrashed by a dangerous looking Toulouse in the very next game. However, Christophe AS Saint-Etienne turned the tide in the next match against Stade Brestois, with a convincing
4-0 win at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, last Saturday.
And Stephanois’ coach, Christophe Galtier, is delighted with the way his players responded against Les Ty' Zefs last week.
While talking to reporters, the 46-year-old praised his players and is of the view that his side is in good position to face SC Bastia this weekend.
"We reacted well after our poor display against Toulouse," said the coach.
The former Marseille coach added that it was Saint-Etienne’s first win of the season and they did so without conceding a single goal in that match.
The coach stated that there are a lot of positives to be taken from that game, and he is pleased with the way his players performed in that game.
"It's a first win, a clean win, without conceding any goals.”
Galtier stated that his players were on top of their game that day, and they moved the ball pretty well. Saint-Etienne played beautiful football last season, and the coach believes that his side has started showing the form from last season, that helped
them finish 7th in the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign.
"We moved the ball well, and produced the things that we did last season. We were also a touch fortunate with four goals from nine shots.”
However, the former Lille player is not getting carried away. The coach added that their opponents were without some of their key players and it helped ASSE.
“We also came up against a team weakened by some significant absences, so we have to stay humble."
AS Saint-Etienne will travel to Stade Armand Cesari this Saturday, to take on newly promoted, SC Bastia.
