The AS Saint-Etienne coach is not really looking to bring in a plethora of talent this summer and says that he will just make a few changes to the core of the team
This season, AS Saint-Etienne finished in seventh place. Led by young striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Les Verts dreamt of a place in European football next season but a series of undesirable results mean that there will be no European adventure for the
Rhone side.
However, the Rhone club’s management is still satisfied with the club’s performances and feels that the policy implemented at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard is indeed the right one, especially in regards to training and integrating younger players.
Last summer, USA international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and in came Faouzi Ghoulam. And, Galtier feels that players who were sold last summer, were only allowed to leave because there were good replacements for them.
The likes of Kurt Zouma, Ghoulam and other players are the products of the club’s youth academy and Galtier feels that having its own players gives ASSE a strong identity.
“These young players need guidance and need to be honed. For me, it’s an important area and is not related to the economic perspectives. I want people to be identified by the team and vice versa. The training centre should be used for that.”
This is the main reason why Galtier does not want to rush into the summer transfer window. A few players will come back from loan spells including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789. Young Guirane N’Daw spent a loan
spell at Birmingham City.
Until the players return to their parent clubs, Galtier will not enter the transfer market. However, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 man says that he will certainly need four central defenders for the new campaign.
“What is certain is that I will have four central defenders! We will return to the stage of discussions with players we have targeted. It would have to be done quickly but nothing will be done soon.”
Relying on youth provides a great opportunity for Les Verts to fully utilise their academy and it seems that Galtier is the right man for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
