Christophe Soumillon will ride Dabirsim in the Prix Fontainebleau on 15th April, 2012
Christophe Soumillon will ride Dabirsim in the Prix Fontainebleau, scheduled to take place on the 15th of April, 2012.
The young colt was expected to be mounted by Frankie Dettori, but his owner, Simon Springer decided that Soumillon should be paired with the young runner.
Racing manager, Olaf Profft told the press:
"We have a firm agreement with Soumillon that he is to ride all our horses this season, as long as his other commitments allow."
Dabirsim, son of Hat-Trick, out of Rumored, has an impeccable racing record as he has not been defeated in the last five successive races.
The Christophe Ferland trained three-year-old colt bagged a victory in the Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Group 1) (2yo Colts & Fillies) at Longchamp on 2nd October, 2011, entering as a favourite with odds of 4 to 7.
Mounted by Frankie Dettori, he defeated Sofast by ¾ of a length.
Ferland who is extremely pleased with how his horse is performing told the press:
"Soumillon, Peslier, Dettori, they are without equal in the world," he further stated that “You're always happy to have one of them available. Everything is well with the horse."
Soumillon has led many runners to victory and this will be his first time riding Dabirsim, with the hope that he will emerge victorious.
Out of five races, Dabirsim was mounted by Philippe Sogorb in three of those and twice by Frankie Dettori. In his maiden, he bagged a magnificent victory in the Prix Baroud D'Honneur at La Teste De Buch on 8th June, 2011.
The bay colt, who was whelped on 5th February, 2009, defeated B Fifty Two by 1 length in the Prix De Cabourg - Jockey Club De Turquie (Group 3) (2yo) (Turf) at Deauville on 31st July, 2011.
The talented jockey has had a successful career.
He collected the prestigious Cravache d’Or in Paris award in 2011, crowned French champion jockey of the year.
This event will be exciting for Soumillon as he will be making his debut on the colt.
This race is anxiously awaited by many including Dabirsim’s connections, his trainer and his jockey.
