Christopher Froome is the only serious rival of Bradley Wiggins: Johan Bruyneel
Team RadioShack-Nissan Sports Director Johan Bruyneel has cited that Christopher Froome is the only real contender for Bradley Wiggins at the Tour de France overall classifications.
Both Team Sky cyclists currently holds the top two position after the stage 14 classifications with a difference of just over 2 minutes between them.
"Will Bradley Wiggins crack in the Pyranees or will he not? Personally I can't see it happening. He has the strongest team," Bruyneel told Sportwereld.
"He has been very comfortable in yellow and the penultimate stage is a time trial. I expect the Englishman to be one-and-a-half or even two minutes faster than [Vincenzo] Nibali, [Jurgen] Van Den Broeck and [Cadel] Evans".
"[Froome] is actually the most dangerous opponent," he said. "He is also fresher than Wiggins, who has been at the same level since Paris-Nice. Froome only started at this level at the Dauphine".
Team Sky currently occupies the second overall spot after the stage 14 classifications and is a favourite to walk home with an overall victory at the French Grand Tour.
Vincenzo Nibali occupies the third position with a total deficit 2 minutes and 23 seconds on the race leader.
The Italian has also shown interest towards securing an overall spot at the French race and is determined to use all his experience to overcome the British duo at the race.
Peter Sagan of Team Liquigas-Cannondale leads the point’s classifications with a maximum amount of 333 UCI points in his bag.
Andre Greipel of Team Lotto Belisol, Matthew Harley Goss of Team Orica GreenEdge and Mark Cavendish of Team Sky holds the next three spots with 236, 203 and 129 UCI points respectively.
