  1. Nolan, Christoper Nolan

  2. You can't compare the films because they were both made in a different time period of comic book movies.

Tim Burton's films captured the dark and gloomy atmosphere and pulp roots of the original Batman (who wasn't afraid to kill or maim the bad guy). While Christopher Nolan modeled his series after the modern Batman, the gritty and grim style of Frank Miller's Year One.

They both provide a different look and portrayal of Batman. It just depends on your taste or perspective. I like both.

  3. It depends on your liking actually....

Burton was more of by-the-book in accordance with staying true to the Batman comics. Joker was dumped into a chemical vat, Harvey Dent was sprayed with acid, etc. Burton took the ancient TV Batman to new heights giving it a more modern and sleek foundation.

Nolan, on the other hand, took that sleek foundation and made it into a world that more of reflects the reality of the world today. He recreated the origins of villains and turned them more realistic and more grungy. Thus, he created a Batman more fitting with the 21st century crowd, which is fed up with the traditional heroes of yesterday and want some variety in their heroes like Hancock, for example.

Anyway....I like Nolan even if I watched every Burton film.

  4. Christopher Nolan

  5. Christopher Nolan....

it's totally different view of batman legacy..

  6. ADAM WEST IS THE ONE TRUE BATMAN!

  7. Christopher Nolan

  8. While I'm a HUGE fan of Tim Burton and I think he did a good job with the first two Batmans (did he do the 2nd two?), I'd still have to go with Christopher Nolan on the vote for best director of the entire franchise. Sadly, the actor playing Batman weighs a great deal on my decision...but I guess the director ultimately made the call on who to cast so that still falls under their responsibility. Plus, I liked the darker more realistic side to the stories.

  9. Tim Burton.

  10. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are much better. they are a true representation of the comics - Dark and Gritty - where as the previous were camp and slightly silly really - its good that this character is now  a serious contender as oppose to a t**t lol

i am looking forward to hopefully seeing an adaptation including the Penguin as he was sinister - but could have been better.

    To answer Nolan is better!

    Fs

[when we gonna get a good Batman Game?]

  11. I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton.  I actually love the dark, artsy and unrealistic movies.  It takes you away for awhile.  If I want reality, all I have to do is look around.

  12. Tim Burton - much better than the depressing and poorly written, poorly plotted output from Nolan.

  13. Nolan, and by some distance, The Nolan movies were Batman movies - they were about the Bat, Burton's movies although fine were about the other characters

  14. Burton!!

He was the first to put the 'modern' batsuit on film.  The black sleek look.  He brought the grit to Gotham City and gave the villains some depth.  He gave Nolan the foundation to build from.

Nolan took it to new heights, sure... but ultimately its all a rehash of Burton's original vision in the first Batman back in 89.
