Philippines 94 – Indonesia 54
On Saturday, the Indonesians got a lesson in basketball by the favourites Philippines, who routed them 94-54 in the second round of the Southeast Asian Basketball Association Championship 2011. The Indonesian team appeared completely
helpless against the invincible Filipinos and never made their life difficult throughout the game.
The best performances in the game 2 of the second round of the tournament are discussed below.
Christopher Ryan Lutz
The youthful talent from the Philippines, Christopher Ryan Lutz landed a game-high 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to power the team for a smashing 94-54 win over the team of Indonesia. Ryan was extremely impressive from the charity
strip and buried 14 free throws in 15 attempts which was the major part of the domination of his game-play. Out of six, Christopher made five defensive rebounds and restricted the opposition from gaining any sort of momentum.
Japeth Paul Aguilar
Philippines’ power forward Japeth Paul Aguilar was the second best scorer in the team who kept the score board ticking with the star performer Christopher Ryan. Aguilar racked up 19 points and clutched 5 rebounds in less than 22
minutes of playing time.
Japeth Paul was flawless from the field and connected 9 shots out of 11 field goal attempts. Aguilar earned one point from the charity strip with the lone free throw attempt.
Dylan Simon Ababou
The instrumental player of Philippines Dylan Simon Ababou was quite active on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court in less than 25 minutes of playing time during the game. Dylan Simon scored 13 points, handed out
3 assists, grabbed 2 rebounds and made 4 steals that is highest in the tournament so far.
The best part of Ababou’s game-play was the shot selection from all over the ranges. Even though he attempted fewer shots however those were landed to perfection. Dylan buried two blistering 3-pointers in as many attempts, connected
five buckets from six field goal attempts and also landed a free throw.
Marcus Eugene Douthit     
The big man Marcus Eugene Douthit also provided a substantial support to the team of Philippines in clinching a comprehensive win. Marcus Eugene finished the game with 11 points and blocked 4 shots with his gigantic physique.
Andi Poedjakesuma      
 From the Indonesian team, the 30 year old Andi Poedjakesuma was the only player who managed to score in double figures as the rest of the team failed considerably against the brilliance of Philippines. Indonesian forward notched
up 10 points and gathered 6 rebounds in less than 18 minutes of playing time.
Although Andi was able to make shots despite of Philippines’ burly defence however he missed a number of attempts from the field.
