Samba has urged the Russian football union to take necessary steps against racism after seeing the written material from the protesting Zenit fans
Anzhi Makhachkala defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212, has blasted Zenit St. Petersburg fans, saying that the Russian football union needs to take necessary measures to minimal racist incidents in the country.
The 28-year-ol stopper, who moved to Anzhi after leaving Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 last winter, expressed his disappointment after the Russian Premier League club fans protested against black players.
The St. Petersburg club fans wrote to the management that they do not want black players in the Russian dugout, saying that the dark players have never been beneficial or part of the club’s history.
The fans wrote in response to what they did at Arena Khimki earlier this month. They threw a firecracker straight at Dynamo Moscow’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anton-Shunin-c6283, who later received medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
The match official, on the other hand, abandoned the league fixture prior to the decisive result and the St. Petersburg club fans were ordered to play three-matches without spectators at Petrovsky stadium.
Samba is of the belief that if the fans will continue to carry such views, Zenit will not be able to progress as a team in the near future.
However, the Congolese footballer did not call the black players to boycott games in Russia, telling them that they should not listen to handful of racist people as most of the fans are mannered and well educated.
"I have no personal claims to the fans but it is a sad that the fans are negatively biased against black players.”
“We, all the players who had come to try and give everything in football, can change the behaviour of the fans by playing quality football.”
“In Russia, there are players from different countries and skin colours. The fans need to accept this or they will not be able to progress.” The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hertha-BSC-c39521 player was quoted as saying.
Samba, meanwhile, himself became a victim of racist antics on March 18, 2012, after he was hit by a banana from the stands in the match against Lokomotiv Moscow at Lokomotiv stadium.
