Christopher Samba threatens to leave Blackburn
Blackburn’s captain Christopher Samba has spoken out against Sam Allardyce’s sacking and has threatened to leave the club. The Congolese footballer has been angered by the treatment of Allardyce at the hands of new club owners, Venky’s. The Indian based
poultry giant took over the club in October of this year for a reported fee of 43 million pounds. Just 26 days into their reign, the new owners dismissed Sam Allardyce from his position as Blackburn manager. The move drew widespread criticism from all sides,
as the general consensus was that Allardyce had been doing a good job at the club.
Manchester United’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson has called the entire affair ‘ridiculous’ and almost everyone in the Blackburn team has expressed their shock and disappointment at the departure of the popular manager. Christopher Samba has added his voice
to the chorus of Blackburn players who have ridiculed the move. Speaking to the Sun newspaper, Samba said, “If this is the way the club's going to be run from now on, I don't want to be part of it and I want to leave. As captain it's very difficult to say
this but I've thought long and hard about it. Nobody in football understands the decision to sack Sam. We could have been relegated last year and Sam saved the club, so how can he be treated like this now?”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212 has been playing for Blackburn for the past four years. In that time, the defender has made a total of 128 appearances for the club. It was Sam Allardyce who had enough faith in Samba to entrust the Congolese international with the captain’s
armband. Samba went on to add that with the current state of affairs, it will be very difficult to attract http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Big-Players-c38635 to the club. Steve Kean is acting as caretaker manager following Allardyce’s sacking. Blackburn’s new owners have stated that Kean will remain
at the post at least until the end of the current season. However, they are actively looking for a more suitable replacement for Allardyce, having recently been linked to the likes of Martin O'Neill, Stuart Pearce, Martin Jol and even Maradona.
