Chronically frozen iPod touch?

Question

So I literally just got an iPod touch; a few nights ago, it ended up freezing and locked me out (it reverted back to the passkey window). I restored it in iTunes and removed the password. Then today, it locked me out again. It is on the screen where it asks to slide it to unlock it. I haven't restored my iPod yet, but I was wondering if it's just my iPod or if all Touches do this. Is it worth it to exchange it?

If its frozen,. dont restore. Just hard reset it by holding both buttons until it resets
