Question:

Chrysler Aspen | Price

Ok, my mom right now is leasing a Chrysler Town and Country but the lease is up in September. So she is looking for a new car right now.

She was considering the Chrysler Aspen. But the thing is the price is getting a little too much out of the price range. We leased the Town and Country when it was about $36,000. And the Aspens start out at $32,000. But my parents want to keep the monthly payments a little lower.

So do you think my parents can talk the price down on the Aspen? Because SUVs are loosing value due to high gas prices. And maybe there is a Chrysler special for returning customers.

If they can talk it down, about how much can they get the Aspen for? They would be leasing it. And how much would the payments be about a month?

  1. Go to www.Edmunds.com to see the invoice price and ask the dealer for that and any other incentives they can give. If they can use another vehicle until the end of the year, the rebates will be greater as well. I know dealers want to sell their SUV’s and trucks so the best way is to try and negotiate unless they would want a used one. They may be able to get a used one cheap from someone who needs a more economical vehicle.

  2. Leasing is really going to depend which financial institution you are going through. As you know, that as of August 1st-Chrysler Financial no longer offers leases on any vehicles. If you are leasing, you have to find other banks to finance the lease terms.

I have a Chrysler Aspen that I leased last June. My window sticker price was 36,000. My lease payment is 354 a month negotiated down from the initial 399 price they gave me. I had a few bells and whistles (different chrome grill and such). I acted as if I was going to walk out the door and then they wanted to negotiate. You have to pull their bluff to get a good price. The way the sales on SUV's are today-you or your parents should be able to get a Aspen for no more than 325-350 maybe a tad lower or higher depending on the trims and any other extras. Do not accept that first offer at all! Remember, they want your money in an industry that is suffering-the ball is totally in your court. Even if they give you a price and you leave the dealershipodds's are they will call you the next day and say that have a "rebate" to bring the price of your vehicle down. Additionally, sometimes it's good to try your smaller dealership's-I've found that they do offer better deals than the more expensive "five star" Chrysler Dealership's.
